I am torn on which TS to buy. I swing my driver about 100-105mph but just got R flex irons as my swing speed with irons is slightly less. My hcp is an 8.8 but I attribute that to playing the same course (albeit hard) a lot and scrambling from my terrible iron play...it's actually not terrible...just short and slicey. Which version should I get?
TS Pro 7 w/ the R Shaft. I think you'll like it. Thanks for the interest.
Martin-

I had gotten the 8iron TS w/reg flex before you commented. I took it out this morning for two hours and noticed that it wasnt as difficult to hit of off of my course's bent grass fairways as I expected....I really want to learn more and feel that the 7 iron TSP is probably the way to go. I did end up with one blister on each hand so I can only assume that my grip had changed and that my general swing was different thanks to the TS.

are there any really low handicappers using this??
I am a 4 and need some help with hitting irons just a little better..
Please let me know.
Thanks

ABSOLUTELY!

I may even be more in love with the TS Wedge than Martin, but any good player who is flipping at all, I take right to the chipping green with the TS wedge, work there until he feels it, then go to the range and alternate between the TS 7 iron, and his own 7 iron. Like magic. I have absolutely no interest in the company, and I don't even think Martin likes me. Something against fat guys...

I don't know if you call 2 as low but I use the 7 iron TSP all the time. I find that it's good to reinforce what is already there or when things get a little wonky it's a great tool to quickly bring the muscle memory back to where it needs to be.

I don't get why there is so much interest in the this product... Drill.. take your normal 5i.. put a tee in the ground in front of the ball and try to clip the tee, ignoring the ball. Should accomplish the same thing..
This was a good drill up & down. I tried it today and had success with it. But, I can also see the added value of the TS, doing
the same task more efficiently. Both are good ideas.

I've had both the TSP7i and the 56 * wedge for a few weeks...loving it.... I'm curios to know if any of you use this tool to warm up before a round? Do you practice with it, then go straight to the tee box? Martin, would you suggest this? THanks, look forward to the feedback
I use it for my first 10-20 swings on the range. When I have a good rhythm going with it, I then change over to my normal 5 iron and just start hitting different shot shapes. I then hit whatever I intend to hit off the first tee a couple of times and I am ready to go. (I chip, pitch and putt before I go to the practice tee, gives me a good impact feeling prior to making full swings).

David Frost and Brian Gay aren't too bad:) McCord has given product to a lot of guys on the Sr. Tour and it is well received. They don't have the same issues as the average bear, but the rhythm required to rattle off shots in succession helps refine things for that level of player.

A lot of TS users hit a few balls to settle into the feel and rhythm before going to the first tee. Great way to work it into your game. Just don't leave it in the bag if you are playing a tournament!

I've spent the last two days reading this thread from front to back. I love the honesty of opinions and reviews of the members, but I'm most impressed with the fact that Cmartin makes an effort to answer questions, give some tips and advise and tries his best to make things right whenever a customer has a complaint. Hat's off to you Mr. Chuck!

I ordering my TSP7 today, and I'm can't wait to give it a go in a week! (Getting it shipped to Canada) I would like to thank all of the WRX'ers out there for testing and proving this product as it has convinced me to jump on the wagon!

Have a good one, eh!

Is there anyway to make a variant harder than the Pro 7x? I enjoy making practice extremely painful. Not that this is very easy to hit, but I am beginning to get hit this consistently well.

Also a tip for others. As mentioned before it is most beneficial for you to hit it off tight grass or out of divots to insure an appropriate strike. I have done this from the beginning, but for giggles today I hit it off some fluffy grass and also the rough and not only is it easy to cheat, but very easy to tell if you're doing it correctly. If you're hitting high floaters (like what would happen out of the rough or fluffy grass) you're doing it wrong. The correct shots will be very boring, when compared to shots out of the rough.

Well I didn't know if there was a special one you could make or something. I don't want to hack up mine and possibly mess it up. I also didn't know if it was changed if it would affect the angles for the appropriate strike. If there's nothing that could be done then I'll just master this. I just like to make things as hard as possible when I'm practicing. Like windy days for instance. People hate playing in it, but I love it. A little fun fact of me I guess...haha.

I've had my TSP 7X for a month and my TS Wedge for a few weeks. I am hitting the ball much better than before. Hopefully it will start showing up in my scores. (I need to start keeping my drives more in the fairway so I don't start off behind the 8 ball....

Great tool - and a great guy to boot....

If I was looking at buying the Tour Striker Pro 7 with a regular steel flex shaft and it is out of stock is it better to go with stiff or the TR 8 steel with regular flex. I am a 20 handicap. Thanks.

Martin, How far can you hit the TS Pro 7?

If I flush it; 165-170.

If I hit it a groove thin, about 190 with a lower trajectory.

I've been working on a swing change to eliminate my horrid hooks and swing path. Thanks to some work with the Pro 7 iron and reading this thread I was able to make some good progress over the last month. After hitting several power hooks when first working with the club, I am now able to hit it straight or with a tiny fade. When I switch back to my normal 7 iron, the trajectory, spin, and distance is amazing.

I know that a lot goes into making improvements, but the TS was certainly a part of the process. Just this last weekend a buddy and I took 3rd place in a tournament after moving down a flight. I played great for 2 of the 3 days and we came home with more than we spent on the trip! Perhaps this product doesn't work for all people, but at a 9HC, I was able to use this club to focus more on my impact positions and make some serious improvements.

Thanks Martin for creating something that forces you to swing with better impact positions and doesn't make you look ridiculous when using it on the range. (At least no more ridiculous than normal :cheesy: )

hi Martin,

I've been religiously watching your youtube videos, great stuff. After yet another horrible round, I have decided to make the plunge and get a tour striker.

I know you really push the TS Pro over the regular TS but still wanted to get confirmation as to which would be best for me.

About me:
20+ handicap
get in about 5 rounds a year
definitely a flipper
only time I take a divot is when I hit it fat (65% of the time) :(
live in the city so range time is limited

Assumptions:
have a child on the way so golf time will likely decline (I don't mind though) :)

So my question is, would the TS Pro still be suitable for someone like me given that I most likely won't have time to hit the range on a regular basis? This is making me lean towards the TS rather than TS Pro. However, from reading this thread, it looks as though using the TS off of range mats (which is all I ever hit off of) enables a little cheating. In that case, would the TS Pro be better?

Lastly, unsure of which flex to get. Driver SS is about 95-98 mph and 6 iron swing is about 80mph. Which flex would be best for me?

Thanks very much and hope to have a tour striker soon.

John

Hello Martin, it's Frankie again, and I'm having a problem with pitching again. I kinda want to learn how you pitch and some drills that help pitching. Questions like is your stance open, where do you place the ball in your stance position, what you do in the pitching swing, etc. for the basic pitch. Can you explain every aspects of basic pitching like that? I know this is too much to write and type about, but I'm having trouble making the ball stop, even with ProV1's and extremely clean grooves. Can you explain the basic pitch for me? Heck, if you're interested in really helping me, you could even make a video about pitching, even though I don't really need videos to help.
