I find it somewhat intersting that everyone is assuming it's a professional golfer. It's also interesting that everyone is picking current professionals.

Was reading the initial post for this contest and I'm not sure I'm in agreement w/the premise that...

Does anyone else think the clues are little hard & obscure for a dozen golf balls? How come the Jr. folks have already had a winner in their contest?

 

That said, I did guess again but seriously, Golf Beauty, where are we going w/this? At some point we'll start to lose interest... I kinda have...

The Junior Contest was set up differently, more along the lines of one of the major tournament contests, where juniors would select a team of players and the junior with the highest total earnings won the golf balls.

As Thomas said I set the junior competition up along the lines of a mini version of DemolitionMans' major contests. I wanted there to be a clear winner, and a contest that would not pose any frusteration to any of the junior members. It was set up to be a much quicker contest than this by using one specific tournament with an open and close date. Thus we had a winner on that close date. This format attracts much more attention but can also be frusterating for many people. I must say overall golf beauty is doing quite a good job with her duties as a mod here. Good luck with the contest ladies.

Deb, I'm sorry, you're starting to lose interest in the game. Our intent was to make the game thought-provoking, interesting and make to the the ladies on the forum "talk" a bit more in the discussion rooms. For instance your "Jupiter" guess. That was great! I was hoping more people would discuss the guesses, albeit wrong ones, more. Hence, the separate topic forum.

 

Beginning next week, on Wednesday, I will no longer give one word clues. I don't want to make the game easy, but apparently I've made it so diffucult as to lose participation. ;)

 

That being said, please invite your female friends to join the forum and discuss the game in the separate forum. Like Adam said, it is interesting, and I love that fact that you guys are doing the research to figure out the answer to the mystery golfer. :crazy:

First, let me say that Golf Beauty is doing a great job - never intended to imply that certainly!

 

I had no clue what the Jr. competition was, just knew that it had a winner pretty quickly. :crazy:

 

I think this contest can get 'harder' as it goes along... meaning I hope once we have a winner, that there's another contest shortly thereafter... maybe we just need to get the hang of it first.

 

Not sure why my female golf friends haven't joined - I've mentioned it to all of them... and will continue to do so.

 

Can hardly wait for Wednesday's clue! :yahoo:
