Very deep and very nice looking,... even though this is 1.5* closed, it didn't look very closed at all... It will be interesting to see the X version, which is going to be 0.5* open...

this is what J.B and Camilo are using (camilo for sure.Look at the new digest...it's not the 905R as stated!). this thing look like a monster! totallly sweet totally sweet ;)

this driver is terrible, i hit the driver this afternoon, hook machine. the stock shafts are garbage and the scallops are much deeper than they look. this thing is loud as hell to, it sounded like a major leauge pitcher throwing fastballs at a metal trashcan. very disappointed with driver and the fairway head is worse. the fairway head looks as if the depth of the head is two inches longer than the face is wide (picture narrow nike sq driver. But get this guys, talked to the rep today and he said 585h and 906f hit mid july start saving.

I am not sure what to think about this club and the added composite to the sole of the club. I guess I need to hit it before I make an opinion.

YES!! A lot better... even though this driver is draw bias (both closed face AND interlally weighted) it doesn't look nearly as closed as the Speed series... Actually, this is a pretty good looking club... we'll see with the X-HS9...

i don't think Cobra will ever learn. they say the X Speed is square. yeah o.k, the face is nearly parallel with your feet. they would probably sell their drivers to the so call 'better players' if they produced a legitimately square faced driver.

Yes, Cobra Comps have been around for a while, but this driver looks like it has a composite bottom in areas too.

 

 

My biggest complaint about Cobra is their drivers are too muted. I mean, I can barely hear that I'm hitting it. When will they solve that problem? ;)

The pics are of an F speed.. they´re still using the Speed system. Why don´t you like it, I think it´s very clever.

I wonder about the open x speed face, although I hate the closed look like many, a huge faced driver like this will have the center very far away from the shaft and produce huge amounts of tourqe, especially when swung hard.. and this will open the face.

Cut and paste much. I think you've posted this same blurb on three different threads. The scallops are much deeper than they look---is that like the X-Tour top line is thicker than it looks----thought that was the IDEA.

The sole has about as much going on shape wise as the callaway X-460. Might be part of its looking more square than the others.

Did you mean piece of garbage?? I (not i) don't know what a peice is. I actually use 14.5 loft in offset with 5 degrees closed face and a senior ladies flex. Here's a couple of drivers I found on my racks---non carbon top you'll note so no garbage. Think how long the Pinnacle team could drive the ball if they weren't burdened with these peices of garbage.

 

I still can hardly wait for that latest loser Titleist fairway wood (hope that is carbon on the bottom) Have you tried one yet (oh well, at least one of us has)?

Thanks to Martineli69 for the pics and Sandy for the review. I know I'll have to try one of the new Cobra's, every time I see a Speed series (and now this HS9) I'm drawn to the massive face and it gives the impression that no matter how hard and out of control I swing, I'll still be able to catch it on the sweetspot. I want one with a 50 inch long drive shaft just because ;) .

Lowest loft in the X HS9 will be 9 degrees. As the picture indicated they tested an 8 but right now 9 is the lowest. F and M available June 1, but the X in July right now.
