Classic Golf Club Outing 5/1/2010 Lookout Mtn Golf Club

SIGN UP HERE.... Bring your Persimmon, Hickory, Blades etc!

We are planning a classic golf club outing for May 1 2010 at the Lookout Mountain GC in Chattanooga TN. Bring your Persimmon or Hickory clubs and your blades. Balata's are extra credit! Sets of Hickory shafted clubs are even more extra credit! No modern equipment will be allowed during this round. No Steel or Ti drivers, No cavity back irons etc.

The round will be played Saturday May 1 2010 at Lookout Mountain Golf Club in Chattanooga TN. LM is a fantastic old 1925 Seth Raynor course that is just perfect for this type of outing.

Anyone that is interested please post in this thread so we can figure out how many people will be attending.

I'm going to try and convince a friend to do it for a good road trip! Do you allow graphite shafts with persimmon heads- or steel shafts only? Either is Ok- just need to know. Thanks for posting.

Would love to do this, will be there with the only issue being I am in the middle of a move out of state and selling a home. But am pretty sure I can pull it together to attend.
Sorry but there is no way I can attend with moving and selling/buying homes.

Please don't take offense, but I ended up making other plans for this weekend. The original post about this event was way back in March- several people replied, and I asked a question. The original poster never added any information. I checked twice on the golf course website which lists upcoming events and this event was not posted. I am assuming that it isn't happening, in which case a simple post would have let everyone know that. Some of us were considering driving quite a few hours, including spending a night at a hotel to do this. Anyone thinking about such an event who posts on the internet needs to keep everyone informed. If the event is happening, I hope it's great, but I won't be there.

Sorry I have not been keeping more on top of this thread, I have been extremely busy with other things.

The event is still happening this Saturday 5/1!

Myself along with Patrick Boyd from Scratch will be playing for sure and maybe another couple guys from the shop. Don White was going to attend but unfortunately now has to go out of town this weekend.

Graphite shafted Persimmon WILL be allowed. As long as your woods are made of wood and your irons do not have a cavity back you are good!

Sadly, I won't be able to make it this weekend. I was really looking forward to the opportunity to have a classic outing at a classic course with a great group. But, something's come up on the home front. Consider me very interested in the second outing. Here's hoping it's this year.
