Should my wedges be bent the same lie as my irons?

3* upright on irons, wedges are 1* as of now

I have a problem throwing my right hand over the top, and my contact on my wedges is at times near the toe. I play Ping isi-k irons white dot which was 3* upright then, I don't know about now. Anyway, my wedges are bent to 1* upright, but I'm still catching it on the toe it seems. I hit my irons pretty well. Was wondering if most everybody has the same lie angles for the wedges as their irons? I don't know if I should bend the wedges or take a lesson?

I've gone both ways. My old set of wedges was upright like my irons and now I've kept my current set with standard lies. If you're leaking out to the right, or if it bothers you...get them adjusted.

All going to depend on you. But for the most part, I find myself, along with a lot of fittings I've done to come out better with wedges that are anything from 1 to 3 degrees flatter than the irons.

2 degrees upright for irons...

standard for wedges.

all depends too. if your irons are blades or cavity backs. my experience that the heavier cavity backs change where i hit the ball compared to blades.

Go to a pro-shop fitter. or you can go to a driving range, and get a lie board (that has chalk) on it, to see where you are hitting your irons and wedges... and see if its the same.

Idealy, you will want EACH iron bent (loft and lie) inidvidualy based on your swing path/type and shot results. When I do a fitting I have the player hit each iron with lie tape on the lie board, then off the turf to check flight path, trajectory, and distance gaps. Simply saying someone is 1* up or Down is irelevent considering you there arent any standards in golf.

Hit each wedge on the lie board then off the turf to determine your lie angle for each.
