Trying to make a decision

In mid-May I'll be meeting some friends from around Kansas and Iowa for a weekend of golf in Kansas City. Tentatively, we have planned on playing Hodge Park and then Shoal Creek on Saturday, since we really want to play Shoal and they are so close together.

I've heard that Shoal Creek is a lot better than Hodge Park, and staying at one course for 36 is always easier, so my question is, should we do as planned, or just play all 36 at Shoal Creek? Anybody play the courses enough to know which way we'd proably enjoy them more?

By the way, the rest of our trip is(tentatively):

Thursday: Alvamar in Lawrence (KU alums in the group dictate this)
Friday: Drumm Farm
Saturday: Hodge Park and Shoal Creek (???)
Sunday: Stone Canyon

Hodge Park has improved from years past but that's not saying much. Go 36 at Shoal you won't be sorry. Alvamar's good if you play the private side. Drum Farn is really mediocre, go out south and play Sycamore Ridge or Prarie Highlands.

Stay away from Prairie Highlands...it changed management and is not in great condition.

If you want to stay up by Shoal, Tiffany Greens is in good shape, I'd play there if you want some variety, but playing Shoal twice would be just fine.

+1 for Sycamore Ridge. I'd also look into the Golf Club of Kansas, Falcon Lakes, Dub's Dread or Falcon Ridge. All good courses.
