Mizuno MP-60 MP-32 Mixed Set?

I was wondering what most people thought about the mixed set with the MP-60 and MP-32.

 

It seems like those that are doing it are going 3-6 MP-60, and 7-PW MP-32.

 

I had initially thought of going from 3-7 MP-60, and 8-PW in the MP-32 because of the jump in offset (.110 to .130 vs. .110 to .126) although hundreths of an inch seem to be hardly worth the trouble.

 

Any recommendations on where the split should be made or the mixed set in general?

I play mp 60 4-7 and mp 32 8-pw. They are the best feeling most solid set of irons I have ever played in my life. I have a set of 695 cb's on the way but highly doubt they will replace the mizunos. You will not be dissapointed if you go with this combo.

I play MP60 4-5 and 6-PW in 32's... I think I might be the only one to split it this way. I love the set though.

I split mine 3-4(60's) and 5-PW(32's). Love them!

I played a split 4 and 5 as mp60 the rest Mp32s;

Just went to all mp60s to pick up some extra performance

How does the Titleist 695cb compare to the MP-32? I have always played Titleist irons (962's) but I think that I am about to change to the MP-32. Any concerns I should have or something else to look at?

I just received my MP-32s (4-PW) and I am very happy. I lost a bit of sleep over this one as well in deciding between MP60, MP32 or a mixed set.

 

In the end the feel and consistency of MP-32 won me over though from all the great reviews I was trying to pick MP-60. I also didn't want an "unbalance set". I had been playing a combo-set for 10 years.

I had the exact set-up you are thinking about doing. I loved that set-up. For me, it was a perfect change at the 8 iron....could have done it at the 7, but the 8 worked great. Unfortunately, I had to get rid of them because the Project X shafts in them didn't work for me. I don't think you would be disappointed with that set-up at all.

I'm a 15 handicaper and have been using game improvement irons. I have been playing this addicting game for about a year and would like to have an iron set that gives more feedback so I can learn from them. so.. should I go with the mix set (4-7mp60 & 8-PWmp32) or all mp60? I've read that the mp60s are more forgiving and can do everything that the 32 can do, .. but I just love how the 32 looks.

 

PS. Have not tried the short 32s.. they only have the 6 iron at the place I demo clubs.

I've been playing the 60's for about 6 months and am a 12. I think they're one of those sets of irons that you keep for a long long time, you won't be dissapointed if you just get a set of the 60's and I doubt you'd notice any lose in performance without the 32's in the bag.

Well, I just ordered a split set of MP60 and MP32s. I went with the standard DG s300, 4-7 in the 60s and 8-pw in the 32s. I hope this works out! I prefer the look of the short irons in the 32s, and they also help keep the ball down a bit better.

 

I will post again once I have received them and played a couple of rounds.

As said in numerous posts, this is a good combo set. After using mine for a while, the 60s are a bit more forgiving and really would make a fine set on their own. If you are just starting out, get all 60's as they give you plenty of feedback and control.

I'm saving up some money to get the Tour Spec version of this combo set - 4-7(60's) and 8-PW(32's). The only difference I believe in ordering it through Tour Spec Golf is that the do custom grinding of the top line and soles to make all irons look identical. Also, you can request custom swing weights. I'm not sure if Mizuno will allow Custom Swing Weights when directly ordering through them.

 

Sigh! only 1600 USD left to save.

I have gone with the 4-5 irons (MX-900) with Rifle 6.0 shafts and 6-PW (MP-60's) with the same Rifle shafts. It took some time getting use to the offset in the MX-900's, I now enjoy the ease of hitting them. As for the MP-60 they speak for themselves...Awesome!

i've hit both the 60's and 32's... the 60's, in my opinion are significantly better clubs just because they are more forgiving. i wouldnt go with a mixed set.... just go 60's.
