Has anyone even had a bad experience like I had with TaylorMade?

I work for a golf shop and it really seems like the orders we have received have been seriously lacking.

I had just ordered two new hybrids..a Rescue Dual TP 19* with an X100 shaft, left handed, and a Rescue Dual TP 16* with an X100 shaft as well, and obviously left handed. I received the 19* first..all the specs were right except it was right handed. That doesn't help me. When they sent the left handed one (correct one), it didn't come with the 'Dual TP' weight kit like it should as well as the Rescue Dual TP headcover. Luckily the headcover that came with the right handed club was a TP one, and had the weight kit..I snatched both from the wrong club.

Now just the other day my 16* came in..except this one had an S300 shaft in it, I needed X100!! What's goin on???

And during this time I also ordered the TP wedges, and asked for my initials on them..I'm afraid they might mess this up too.

Anyone else experience bad things with TaylorMade customer service?

It took me 8 WEEKS to get a sand wedge! All of the OEMs are having issued for some reason. It took me almost 5 weeks to get a wedge from Cleveland.

Me and the guys in our shop HATE dealing with Taylor Made for that reason. About 50% of our customs are wrong.....and they do wicked things like when they lower the price that we pay, they don't give us a credit but instead send more product. We already have everything in the line....we don't need another Left handed ladies R5....but thanks.....

 

I would drop TM if there advertising wasn't so good and everyone at my club didn't ask for it.

I have had problems with Taylor Made regarding faulty R7 drivers. My driver was returned to Taylor Made UK twice and was returned to me, stating that nothing was wrong.

 

I checked the figures on a launch monitor at a demo day and the ball speed was 10 mph difference with the R7 than with various other manufacturers' drivers. The clubfitter at the range told me that the face of my driver was dead and should be returned to Taylor Made (again) but I gave up and traded it in at a different shop for a 905R.

 

I have begun trading in my other Taylor Made gear and will not purchase any of their equipment, clothing or footwear again.

i broke my R7 and had a local shop that i just got a job with send it back in for me. granted i live about 30 minutes from the taylor made facility and i sent it in right when they were finishing up their winter break and catching up on custom orders and it took me 3 weeks to get a replacement. i did like how they were no questions asked even though i just had a new shaft put in. they were a little slow but easy to deal with.

yes i have heard many stories when it comes to equipment, but for accessories they have been good to me. I needed a spare winn/rossa tp grip that comes stock on the rossa tp putters, but could not find one anywhere. I asked where to get one, and he ended up sending me two free one's plus a rossa tp putter headcover, even though i did not need it nor did i ask for it!

was it a PUD purchase? i can understand if it takes a while to fill a PUD order, but even though, they should at least get the custom specs correct. we haven't had any problems with TM yet, except it takes a little longer to get new products. recently sent in a r5 fw for warranty reshafting, got it back in just under 2 weeks....and i'm in hawaii.

I may be biased being a Taylormade Staff Player, but other then a few slower orders for our members it's been good so far in the 06 season. My equipment came rushed from Carlsbad so I had no complaints, but I know there's a few Professionals in the area that are still awaiting product.

 

The only downside in dealing with ordering product for members is the initial unknown factor of how long it's going to take. So far through their warehouse in Brampton has been the standard 7 to 10 business day and the custom orders out of Carlsbad have been fairly close to that. (Dependent on which product is being ordered)

 

The only mis-haps on custom orders this year at our course have been through Ping, which is usually the top company when it pertains to ordering and customer service.

Actually what I really loved about Taylor Made was calling to place the days/weeks orders and waiting on hold for 25-30 minutes. Yeah, like I had nothing better to do then sit on hold with TM for that long. It is difficult to service members and answer the phone when your on hold half an hour trying to give them business.

Also, don't even bother asking Customer Service anything about their product. They have no clue. They said the same custom iron specs can be applied to different models in their iron lines. BS.

I have had pretty bad experiences too.

 

Ordered an R7 and arrived with the untipped shaft, even if it was asked to tip it 1". Ordered a fairway wood, same problem but the shaft was tipped 1" more than what was asked. Another fairway wood it was delivered with wrong length (1" shorter).

 

Lately I had written to their customer service asking for a shaft availability. They answered yes - actually via e-mail -, but once I placed the order they claimed they don't carry it.

Wow, you don't get this type of honesty at some other sites. It just goes to show you that there is no perfect company out there. Does anyone have a clue as to what the root of the problem is?

Has anyone ever tried the platinum, gold and silver custom order options? If yes, are there at least more reliable?
