Titleist Aussie Hat

Anybody wearing this hat or something similar for the summer?


I'm intrigued by the idea of a hat that keeps the sun off my head, neck and shoulders. I've tried one on, and it does kind of look like a golf sombrero. But if it works I could get over that.

I have one and love the fit. I know columbia makes something similar, and I have seen it on the bay in college team livery. Neither are vented very well, however the fabric is light and neatly water proof. It shades me quite a bit, and I have always worn buckets. Worth the cash IMO.

I have the Columbia one. I'm still getting use to the look. But when its 93+ degrees outside with 90% humidity it's great.

I have this hat. They are not bad, but they are a bit heavy for me. Where I play it gets pretty hot sometimes(90+ deg.) and I find when I wear this hat I am sweating a lot. I now wear the PING boonie hat most of the time now. They are lighter weight and I don't feel as hot wearing it. I bought them here:

One more thought: the Titleist and Ping hats are polyester and, although they are vented, may get uncomfortable on a real hot day. Same is true of the original Tilley which I think is why they introduced the cotton.

Ok, for the sake of not creating a new thread I'll revive this one.

I have the Titleist Aussie hat and love the coverage and light weight. Even in the minority thinking it looks good too. However, when there is ANY breath of wind the bill flips up and is absolutely maddening!

Anyone know if the Ping Boonie handles wind better?

(I like the style of both of these, not a big fan of the Tilley or straw fwiw)

Take a look at the Sunday afternoon's Crater or Cruise hats. I use the Cruiser for it's pack-ability-- good quality and priced right

Adelaide and Perth always seem to cop heatwaves for several days, still good golf weather.

46 in Adelaide the other day. That wasn't good golf weather. It was an expensive day on eBay though.
