Is it worth the extra $50 to get the Upro over the Upro GO?? Both have price drops now and am looking to get one or the other.
Thanks for any input.

IIRC, the Go only has the anypoint available on the green, whereas the upro allows it anywhere on the hole so that you can plot your first shot and see what that will leave you for your second.

To me that was one of the big advantages of the upro over the competition so that alone would be worth the 50 bucks.

Check out http://www.uprogps.com/upro/comparison/

There is a per course charge for Pro Mode to get the Intellipoint feature on the Upro. One time fee to get the Go Mode on the Upro Go.

I have tried searching the website over and over to find the cost per course for the pro mode with the uPro. I play on the road in the summer and it seems that the cost of the courses may get prohibitive. I know that there are package prices that you can get for the courses, but let me know what they are. Thanks.

Or go to this page (http://coursefinder.uprogps.com/). Then scroll down on the page--under the "Search" button, click on the "Pro mode course pricing " button, and a pop-up menu opens.

For my game, the GO is perfect. I bought it brand new for $120 on ebay and have two friends that have purchased theirs for the same amount - prices will keep coming down, too. Not too bad for a unit that has 18,000 preloaded courses, no annual fees, etc. It comes with one free Go Mode course, so if you have a home course that you play at all the time, there's not much reason to spend the extra $40 on unlocking Go Mode for all courses.

I personally own a uPro Go and love it. I have used the uPro as well and think it is a great device.
As many have said for the "Pro" mode on the uPro is a per course charge.
However with the uPro Go to get their "Go" mode for all the courses is just a one time fee of $50.
I have no issues with my uPro Go, it gives me accurate yardages, battery life is great, love the color screen, tons of courses and no fees :0)
I'd say either one is a great device. If you are bent on wanting to plot every shot and get more detailed information go for the uPro.
If you just need accurate yardages and a cheaper device, go for the uPro Go.

I have the GO, with the GO Mode activated. Unless it is a course that I am completely unfamiliar with that has a lot of trouble around the greens, i keep mine on the basic view mode. I glance at the yardage for front back and middle and thats it. it is definitely nice not having to download courses. I made sure mine was updated when I first synced it, and i haven't messed with it since then. Since the charger is just a mini USB, I never even take it into the house, i just charge with my Blackberry charger on the way to the course. It became a pain to hit the refresh button every shot to get out of sleep mode, but i found that by turning off the battery saver i can get almost 36 holes without a charge. Since I never play more than 18 in a day, battery life is perfect.

I'd recommend the GO, and skip the Go Mode.

Golf Galaxy has 15% off site wide today and I just checked online and the Upro is on sale for $199 and with the cose 15TODAY you can get it for $169. I hope that putting this on theh site with the name of the store is OK.

I play the Upro Go and it is very useful for your yardages and to see if you can get into a bunker or reach water. The down side is that if you play a lot of new courses and they have some blind tee shots or doglegs sometimes you don't know if you can hit driver off the tee or not and if they don't have a bunker over there the Go won't help you out. If I could go back and pay $50 more and get the Pro that it would still be a tough decision but I would probably opt for the Upro. Hope that helps! Good luck I think you will be happy with whatever you get.

I love my GO...but i did not turn on the GO MODE. I use it 99% of the time on my home course, and the GO MODE was free for it. When I play other courses, I let it run in the standard mode which is fine.

I haven't had a reason to buy GO mode yet, I've used mine to play a few different courses, but mainly on my home course, which has the free GO mode unlocked.

I use the pinpoint mode occasionally to get a precise number to a pin at my home course, but away, really all that I want to know are the three distances. You can see the distances to any bunkers which might be in play with the press of a button anyway, just not the pretty picture of the green that you get in GO mode.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
