my first "true" set of irons were ping i3s... traded them in (idiotically) for new blades about 4 yrs ago. my game hasn't been the same since. i'd love to get back to the ping brand!

I recently had the good misfortune of hitting a few dozen balls with an identical set of PING S56 irons (black dot/ KBS stiff). Before that, I was perfectly happy with my set of MP-62s that are not even a year old. The one thing that really stood out about the S56 irons was that each of the clubs I tried produced very predictable/repeatable ball flights. In addition to excellent ball control, they felt great at impact and played 7-12 yards longer than my current set. For me it would be worth owning a set just for the improved ball control.



Win or lose the contest, I’ll be playing with PING S56 irons this summer.

These babies need a good home. A place where they'll be loved and cared for. Where they won't go to sleep at night with mud in their grooves, or dried sweat on their grips. A warm home, not some cold garage. A place indoors like my man cave. Where they can watch Golf Channel and Sports Center. And they won't be alone. These clubs will not be lonely! They can pal around with their older brother's, my S59's. They will not be spoiled either. They will earn their keep. Once a week they will have to prove the genius behind their manufacture. They will have to show why tungsten is the only real choice for weighting a club. They will be challenged by some of the best golf courses in the world. Oh, forgot to mention, home is in California...Palm Springs. Yeah that Palm Springs, the place with all the golf courses. It only makes sense that these clubs should find their home with me, in golf heaven.

I use S-58 pings, they are great irons. I promised my son this year that I would buy him a new set of clubs. He has grown 6" in the last 6 months and his current clubs are no longer fitted to him. He is a junior in High School and he is the number one player in his school. Unfortunately, I lost my job back in September of 2010 and I can no longer afford to buy him a new set of clubs and I know that these clubs would be perfect for him as he has a chance to get a golf scholarship for college, I know if he wins these clubs, they will help him be a great player.
