Biloxi golf trip

Need some good advice on a trip to Biloxi. Looking at going around the middle if sept with 8 guys. We normally do a trip in Michigan every year but want to branch out this year. Any advice on places to play an stay will be great. Also what is the weather like that time of year. We thought of Myrtle Beach as well but heard its rainy that time of year. We are all in our low 30s and golf ability ranges from scratch to hack. But we all enjoy playing and having fun, on an off the course. Again any insight is greatly appreciated.

I just spent 5 days in Biloxi, middle of October. It was hot then, but not too hot, September should be good and warm. A lot of really nice courses, the Preserve is very nice, Shell Landing is very cool. Lots of gambling, good restuarants. I had a really good time.

How was the prices then? Is that peak time of year?

Prices were great. I think, the total cost was $450 for 5 days, and 4 rounds of golf, plus we got $100 in casino chips. We had a group of 12, so I am not sure if that made a difference. We stayed at the Palace Casino.

Shell Landing is very good last time we played it. Also here are some other courses. Grand Bear, step above Shell Landing. Windance Country Club, probably can get on and comparable to shell landing. And if you guys can swing it Fallen Oak. It is tied in with the Beau Rivage so you may have to put up some money but it is always in great shape.

My advice is stay at the Beau Rivage. Really nice casino, and it also gives you the opportunity to play Fallen Oak. They will pick you up from the hotel and personally drive you to the course, where there will be a personal caddie waiting on your arrival.
I'd advise getting hot on the blackjack table the night before, could soften the sting a little bit on your wallet for golf.

If you're going to go to Biloxi though, it's a must that you stay at the Beau. It's Vegas quality.

I will agree with Boudreaux, the Beau Rivage is a very nice place, it is expensive though.

I played Fallen Oak (stayed at Beau Rivage) the week before the senior tour event a few months ago. It was my 4th trip there and I was curious if it was possible for the course to be in any better condition than my previous 3 stays. Without a doubt, my questions were answered immediately. Eliminate the tents and stands and it would look and play just like every other day of the year with the exception of their transition times. Bottom like is that this is by far, the best golf course on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. While the other courses in the area offer some great opportunities, none of them are even close from layout, condition, amenities, and friendliness of staff. All of my trips have been buddy trips and the golf staff helps us put together and keep tabs on all of the bets. A truly great guys golf experience.

I really enjoyed The Preserve on my last trip down to Biloxi. I like Jerry Pate courses - they just seem to fit my eye and game for some reason. I played Grand Bear and The Preserve on my last run down there and I'd play The Preserve three times straight before I'd go back to Grand Bear, and I'm a fan of Nicklaus designs.
