Anyone played with them?

Anyone played in one of these tournament before? I'd love to get some feedback.

Funny you ask... I was just looking at their website, like maybe an hour ago.

The tournaments look pretty soft. If you play, have fun winning! :tongue:

Looks like it kinda took the place of the golfnow club tournaments.

I used to work with one of the founders of NW Golf Guys at Red Tail. He is a really nice guy, but I have no clue as to how their tourneys are. It seems like a small group of weekend warriors looking for a little competition every once in a while. It wont hurt to join them, I'm sure there is always a game going on somewhere.

I just joined....1 tourney a month and 9 hole events 3 times a month or something like that.....hopefully it is good.

Well for all those wondering and wanting feedback: This was an utter joke. One of the worst run events I have ever participated in. I truly regret signing up now!

First event was at Pumpkin Ridge. 1st off, it was a 6 hour round! That should be your first indication of how bad it was.

It went from tee time to shotgun....considering it was a 6 hr round, this ended up being a good thing. However, it was a cluster. When we got to our first hole, there was public teeing off and public coming off the next green.

We started on 7, so when we made the turn to complete the front the public was being sent off and we had public now in front of us again.

They split the field into 2 flights....all I could say was WTF? There were 72 players and you have 2 flights?

No gross payout...net only.

No rules provided from the organizers...Example, My group putt everything out, but I noticed many other groups doing gimmees.

Payouts are Golf Galaxy gift cards....which I personally hate..almost all of us golfer have enough golf stuff. I prefer Visa Gift Cards.

I am done with this experiment...count me out moving forward. Just not worth it!

I'm pretty big on the NW golf scene/tourney's, and I've never heard of them, nor heard anyone even mention them. So they must not be doing anything spectacular to stand out.

And why are they called "NWGOLFGUYS" if all the tournaments I'm looking at are in Oregon? That's not NW, that's Oregon...
