Does anyone here play around Huntsville Alabama? I just moved here 2 weeks ago and I have not met anyone to play with yet. I played to a 6 hdcp last year, but I have not played the last few months hardly at all. I am off weekends for the first time in my life and would like to find some decent golfers around here.

I play whenever the wife makes me go visit her mom..... part of our weekend deal. Might have to look you up in a few weeks.... pretty sure we're headed that way.

Usually play the course on airport road near memorial pkwy... can't remember the name, but it's fairly cheap. Range sucks, but a small bucket and 18 holes walking gets me away for a few hours.

It's also most surprised I've ever been with a random pairing. Got paired with two guys wearing jean shorts, one with a muscle shirt and the other with a ratty t-shirt and painters cap. Wanted to kill myself at first. One played to about scratch and the other was probably single digits easy. Crazy. Both smoked a lot of weed though.

Colonial in Meridianville is ok. Easy to walk. My dad is still there, & plays all of those courses mentioned. Although the city course is too expensive, even if it is the closest to my parents house.

I live right off of memorial. I am not sure the name of the course you are talking about, but I know where it is. I have never been a big fan of just going out by myself and getting paired with people, but it is supposed to be in the 60's here tomorrow and I have the itch. Please look me up if you come to town.

He is talking about Huntsville Municiple at Airport and the Parkway. It is cheap and generally ok condition, but you get what you pay for.

Isn't there a RTJ Trail development in Huntsville? If so, I doubt if there's anything better.

I'm one of the owners of Sunset Landing. We always try to pair singles and twos if we can because we are generally very busy during peak season. It's just beneficial for everyone and helps with pace. Singles and twosomes in a sea of fours is not any fun and makes the wait seem twice as long. We can find you a game pretty much anytime if you'd like. Colonial , Becky Pierce Municipal , Point Mallard in Decatur, Canebrake in Athens and RTJ Hampton Cove are excellent choices in the area. Hampton Cove has a wonderful practice facility , a top notch Short Course and two 18 hole courses. I prefer the Highlands myself, I'm not too big a fan of the River Course. Drop me a line if you want to play sometime, I just came out of a six year fishing and poker binge and have started to play again. Madison Golf center has a great lighted range and fully stocked shop with repair service and snack barwith draft beer:) if you need some evening action.

I just checked this thread for the first time in a while. Thanks for all the responses. I have been out to Hampton Cove and it is really nice, but I have been playing on the arsenal courses most of the time because they are so cheap for me. I will get out and try Sunset Landing soon, and the driving range out in Madison is quite nice.

We've started a $20 skins game at 10 on Saturdays and a $20 Dogfight with $5 skins pot on Sundays at 10 also. It's a good mixture of guys. If you'd like to come shoot me a PM and I'll fix you up in the game. We've had 15-30 players each day for about the last 6 weeks. When it finally gets hot we will start earlier. We're nothing special but we have good fairways and good bent grass greens , just an old renovated muni.

I'm in Huntsville/Owens Cross Roads. I play Arsenal the most, but have hit several other courses from Athens to Scottsboro.

I love the RTJ, but most of my typical partners don't (too restricted for the grip'n'rip crowd, I guess).

I like to play _early_ on Saturdays or the odd Friday. 0730 tee times, done by 12pm or so.
