Bad Weekend

damaged clubs

Well I had a bad weekend with two issues.

1. My trusty 983K is developing a crack along to the top of the face. Does anyone know if I am out of luck and need to purchase a new driver or will Titleist help me out? I've had the club for about 2 and half years. Though I am not stuck without a driver I did just order a G5 from eBay to play around with but I loved the 983!

2. Well I spent the 95* day boating and drinking then the in-laws wanted to go golfing well this was a bad idea. Since my driver is damaged I used my 904f fairway wood to drive with. Well lets say I swung lost my balance and ended by hitting the tee box marker with the back of my club putting two decent sized dings on the back of the club which I will call jackass marks. Can titleist remove these and if so how much does it run or is there a different company that can do this and any cheaper?

I will try to post pictures of both clubs later on today to show my 983 and my jackass marks.

i would take the latter as an act from god a calling if you will. He is telling you that you need a 906F2

as for the driver it is hit and miss but i think they will take care of you.

I was so pissed when it happened but now I can laugh about it I'm still bumbed I dinged my club but I hope I can find someone to fix it this winter.

 

Update on the 983K

Just stopped by my local golf shop and they called Titleist and they said they would fix it or replace it. The sales guy didn't know what they'd do but mentioned they might just send me a 905T instead. I guess I'll have to wait 10 days to find out.

When I cracked my 975J they replaced it with the newer model 983K since that was the latest model out at the time. My club was at least 2 years old so you should be able to get a new driver out of the deal.

 

I'm not sure about the "jackass marks" though...are they just scratches or dings? If they're scratches Titleist should be able to repair that easily I would think

if you don't want to repair it and just want to buy a new one i'll take it off your hands for cheap :man_in_love:

I love the looks of the 906 but I just got the 904 this year and I hit it so well. Just bought a used G5 off eBay but if I get a 905R out of my 983 I might sell the G5 and buy a 906.

 

The marks are dings so there actually dents almost like a shopping cart that has rolled into your car, little sharp dents.
