Covering Name on Staff Bag

Options

Got a bag from my buddy who had his name on it. Looking for options to cover it up. I have bought an American Flag patch and had a shoe shop sew it on the bag in the past. But would like to hear other options. Size needs to be around 5 * 7 or maybe a little bigger. Thanks.

Don's staff bags have the name embroidered into a zip off panel?

I'm sure you would have checked but the newer staff bags name panel is removable which means it can be replaced. If it's a older bag the American flag will look great.

Its not the largest bag and the panel is not removable.

You can take it to an embroider and get the stiching taken out, its not perfect but you really can't tell

I would go by a sewing / fabric store like a hancocks fabric - buy a seem ripper - and then just sit down with a heck of a lot of patience and start splitting the stitches and then pull out the thread - and then have the Flag Patch stitched on

Thanks for replies. This friend has his name on all his bags and kills value when he wants to get rid of them. I have another one that I used the flag patch. You don't need to remove his name as the right patch will cover it. I just wanted to know if there were other options or patches that would be better. Would love to find a college OU but can't seem to find one.

Alright first things first. I think you need to take a chill pill 3put. and second you need some glasses because the very first post says it was his buddys and it doesnt have his name on it.
And to the OP you can try getting a seam ripper at walmart and try doing it yourself, or just take it to a seamstress, they would know what to do.

He odviously cares because he started a topic to find something to cover it up. If he didnt care what anybody thinks he wouldnt be looking for help on a public forum to resolve his problem. Would you want your stuff to have somebody elses name on the side of your stuff, apparently he doesn't.

How about having a patch of a contrasting color cut and sewn over your buddy's name??? Depending on the style and stitching of the bag the contrasting color patch may look like it came that way from the factory...

I've done the seam-ripper thing and hoped that the leather wouldn't show the hole pattern left from the stitching, but it did and it looked worse than if I'd left it alone and look like I stole the bag! The flag patch is the way to go, I think.

Thanks again guys. I know the American Flag patch will work as I have done this before. Like I said before, I have gotten several bags from my buddy. But the OU patch looks like something I might try. Then again if I ever get rid of it, the OU patch might be as good as selling point as a person's name.

Calm down dude! Maybe I was just trying to instill some consideration that it doesn't matter what his bag says, so long as he likes it and wants to carry it! Did that thought ever cross your mind while you were reporting me?
