When I first saw the pics by the OP, before reading the captions, I thought the left set was the correct way(inside, shallow path ala slicefixer), and that the right set of pics was the wrong way- too outside and over the top. I am so confused.
Not confused at all.
Your educated eyes are bang on.
Not all people want a one plane swing (slicefixer).
Not everyone suits a one plane swing either.
Actually the photos on the right would be a lot closer to what Geoff Jones prescribes than the ones on the left. The OP was way too deep and way too inside and way too shallow.

I lived and taught in SD for a while. Would be up for going back out there and am looking at the possibility of doing so sometime in the spring
If you're going to SD, let me know. Maybe you could make a pit stop in Phoenix.

Man I was convinced that I was going to go all in on the SF method. Now I see this thread and a friend of mine has recently decided to go to Iteach as well. Dan are you ever in NC? If not I might be interested in internet lessons if you still do that. Willing to bust my hump

itch,

Are you of the belief that modern clubs are too upright and that many recreational golfers would benefit from flatter lie angles, even those who are natural 'slingers', down the line releasers of the club?
Clubs are upright to provide a leftward/draw bias to help golfers not slice. I think more traditional lie angles are ideal, generally 2-3* flatter than standard depending on manufacturer

I am willing to go anywhere to teach if the interest is there. Only issue is I need to charge more when I travel because of added expenses not present at my home club and to cover the opportunity cost of not being present at my home club. If a group of people got together and wanted to have me out and we could find a facility willing to host I'm up to go anywhere. Many times its easier for someone to come see me, while not as convenient, it ends up similar in cost and way more flexibility as far as dates go, as travel requires much more planning.

Those comparisons really help b/c I look like the ones on the right. Reminded me to keep the club more in front of me so I don't get stuck. Thanks.

At the top of the backswing, the before swing looks alot like my now swing...and I love the look of the new swing (with the left arm getting above the right shoulder).

Varsityhacker gave us some insight as tohow he got there...steeper shoulder turn, higher backlift, hands in front of the body.

I wonder if a having a higher right arm (so that the humerus is more or less parallel to the ground) at the top is part of the equation???

Many good players will get too deep and too narrow because the right elbow will get too close to the body. How high the right arm gets will be a function of swing length. Players with shorter swings will look very "connected" but to right elbow is actually away from the body a 6 or more inches. Longer swings it will be higher

Anybody interested in getting a group together to go see Dan? Looks like the cost per person would go down. I am definitely considering it.
Definitely the most affordable option. If people are interested we can discuss some dates

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
