Footjoy Classics

Are the Adidas 360 Tour better?
I used to know that the Footjoy Classics were the best Golf shoes in the world (those made in USA) and they even had lifetime warranty.
Now after looking at the new models, it seems to me that they changed the soles and many peoples complained that they break easily after few rounds...

Are the Adidas 360 Tour better than the Footjoy Classics? As far as I understand the Adidas look better and are more comfortable. But the Footjoy are made in USA and that to me (normally) means quality...

Not sure where they are made, but the DryJoy PRO are the best shoes I've ever used. I went out with the intention of getting Tour 360's, but they didn't feel any better than the Footjoys and looked a little bit ridiculous in the flesh. I've used my DryJoy PRO's now for 6 months and haven't had a blister or sore feet yet. Totally dry and comfy, can't beat that.

I cannot speak to the Footjoys, but I have several pairs of Ecco's and love them.. thought there was no better shoe... then I tried Tour 360's....like walking small pillows on the bottom of your feet.... but very stable. 3 rounds in them so far, feel great out of the box. I should mention that I walk 98% of the time.

If you are in MA/RI area, and want to get a great deal on FJ Classics, check out Joe & Leigh's, they get all the factory blemishes of the classics (the only shoe made in the US from what I understand). Some of the blemishes are unnoticeable, but since the shoes retail at ~$300, the quality control holds very strict reign over what passes. I bought an all white pair that had a small red dot (would fit inside the "4" on a Pro V1") on the INSIDE of the shoes collar. Got them for $140.

You get what you pay for  I like each pair for a different reason, fit, feel, weight and looks, I haven't found the perfect shoe yet but if I do, it will be a cross between these 3. :help:

It was the classics dry premier that my friend showed to me and the rubber sole that was broken in half!! They have changed the warranty and now they only give 2 years (instead of the lifetime warranty they gave with the old classics)...

I love the look of those shoes, but due to the price ($ 300) I do not really like to have that kind of problem.

I will go for Adidas 360 Tour and see how they perform (since they are half the price).

I had a pair of Classic Dry Premiers split the soles on me. Both soles after about 26 months on the same day golfing. Ugg. At first I wondered if it was something on the course because they went from apparently fine, to totally shot in 9 holes.

Long story short, after a couple go-arounds with FJ, they repaired them for free. It took some convincing though. I had another pair of Classic Drys that lasted almost 7 years.

MrParr1Noid,

Just out of curiosity, what do you like about each?

For the classics, I like the fit, the feel, and they were very light also. The Premiers are just the kind of shoes that are the ulitmate golf shoe, solid, no give construction, almost custom fit to your foot (I've got wide ones), and they last a long time if you know how to take care of great footwear. The Adidas Tour 360's were stylish, light on the foot, feel more like a all purpose training shoe than a golf shoe, and flex with the motions of your foot.

Of these three shoes, when it comes to walking, I'd prefer the Footjoy Classic, this shoe has the foundation that a good walking shoe needs. For my everyday type kick around shoe, I'll place the Adidas 360 Tours next, this is a good shoe for under $175. The Footjoy Premiers are just so darned good in so many areas of what a guy like myself needs in golfing footwear, they look good, they wear good, and they support your foot the way it needs to be supported, it's damn near impossible to run them over and with the proper care, they will last 6 to 8 years easy but at $300 plus that is more than most guys will give. My .02 worth :)

Ya'lls mileage may vary. :help:

Yes, he had 2 pairs of Dry Premier with the same conditions (sole split in half) and he had a pair of original Classics that he used for more than 8 years (still using those). He told me that those Classics FJ does not make them anymore and he suggested me not to buy the Premier...

I do not understand why the price did not change but the quality and warranty yes!!!

Well I really like the style of the Classics but no point to risk (not small amount of money)!!!

FootJoy Classic Dry Premier are awesome shoes. Footjoy Classics Tour are horrible shoes for the same price as the Premiere

If you don't mind spending a lot of money, buy Classics Dry Premiere or ECCO's.

You could also wait until the new Nike SP-8 TW Tour (All Black or All White) or the SP-8 Tour Saddle (White/Brown or White/Black) They both come out 11-1-06

or you could wait for the new SP-5 or SP-6 which are coming out

10-1-06

I hear everyone talking about if you take specific care of your FJ classics they'll last a long time. What is the specific care because I have a pair and I don't have a clue how to care for them besides clean them with a rag after I play. Unfortunately these are the only shoes that fit my EEE foot. I've tried all the other shoes that say extra wide and there not wide enough, so I've got to pay $275 for golf shoes and it sucks but if I can make them last longer that will be great.

Thanks

I clean mine after a round with saddle soap, and always put a coat of polish on them. A couple times a year the leather on the shoe, including the sole, needs to get some oil, bear grease, whatever Footjoy recommends just like any other fine leather.

The quickest way to ruin a good shoe like this is not to lubricate the leather with a good leather oil or grease, and to not shine them and put polish on them on a regular basis.........And Dayuuum! do they look good! :help:

I've had my all white Classics Tour's for almost 2 years now and have played A LOT of golf in them and they are just as good as the day I got them. They are a great shoe, IMO. Only thing I don't like is how heavy they were. It felt like I had worked my legs out all day after walking Bethpage Black in them.

I've never played in the 360's, but I have tried them on and man are they comfortable. They almost feel like slippers. I might have to go get myself a pair.

When it comes down to it, it's all about what you like and what look you want. I haven't heard much bad about the Classics or the 360's.

Like Mac said...as long as you take care of the good shoes, they'll be fine. I get my polished on a regular basis and they still look great after almost 2 years of use.

Ive had both... Just swapped the Classics for another pair of 360's.

Both are awesome shoes, but it all depends on your foot. The classics weren't suited to me where the 360's are amazing, no probs what so ever.

I'd say you can't go wrong with either, just make sure what ever you get suits your foot. You can't wear a shoe in the store for 2 minutes and say yeah they feel great. You need to play a round with them and go from there.
