Moving to Laguna Hills

want to find people to golf with

Moving to Laguna Hills at the end of the month for a new job at Mission Health Hospital.

I used to live in the area some years back but never golfed back then. My friends I still talk to all don't play golf, so, I was looking for a few people off the boards to play off.

Few questions though,

Which courses should I play? I'm like a 9 hdcp at the moment. Which are the cheapest price for best course, and which are reasonable for the quality of play?

Anyone on here from the area that are looking to pick up a onesome? I play quite a bit and have fun with it.

How's it.

Probably Tijeras Creek GC is the best bet and by joining the Creek Club you get a great value for OC. OC golf is outrageous and IMHO, the Creek Club is the best overall value for a solid golf course. Talega is nice too, not as nice as it used to be, but good deals can be found on websites.

San Juan Hills is decent, a few goofy holes, but now many say it's a little much to pay for a place a touch better than a muni.

Arroyo Trabuco GC is in Tijeras's tier level, but I personally don't like the golf course all that much. I do love their all grass range and the teachers there are probably the best group of instructor's around. A ton of up/coming juniors practice there as well as Oak Creek. Oak Creek is overpriced but the facility there is really good. Practice facility is one the best in SoCal but not enamoured with the 12-14 dollar large buckets. Tom Fazio did the layout but you wouldn't know it. Course is nice but green fee, even on Click4teetimes.com is still overpriced.

Of course you have all the other usual suspects, too many to name, but I'll name a few. Miles Square, RiverView, Costa Mesa, Tustin Ranch, Aliso Creek, Rancho San Joaquin, Strawberry Farms, Dad Miller, Anaheim Hills, etc. they're all the same, you'll just pay more at Strawberry and Tustin.

By the way I noticed your name. I'm a HUGE sharks fan, if you havent seen my avatar. I've been to 4 playoff games already this year. I LOVE the sharks. I have 5 jerseys, watch every game, by far my favorite team and sport.

Being from nor-cal I've been pro-sharks since I was a kid and Jamie Baker Brett Hedi rolled through.

Taylor, I'm a huge Sharks fan as well. Born in SJ, raised in Los Altos and sister and brother still live there. I usually catch a few Sharks games when they come down south here and play the Ducks and Queens, I mean Kings.

I've got 3 jerseys and all kinds of Shark gear too. I used to play for about 6-7 years then injuries and old age just ate me up. I miss playing, I think about trying to get back into it but I"m too old and everyone else is younger stronger and faster.

I'm holding my breath and not saying anything about our playoff run. You know how we are. I hope this run is like the SF Giants, they just went on a tear in the playoffs and won the whole damn thing. Hope the Sharks can do the same. I've seen all the Bay Area teams win a championship. 49ers, Raiders, Warriors, A's, Giants. Now just waiting for the Sharks to do it and I can die a happy man.
