Where do all the headcovers go?

Seriously...

Looking at all the BST ads, I see a bunch of clubs (woods and putters) for sale without headcovers. My question is what happens to all them? You go buy a driver brand spanking new online or instore and you always receive a headcover included. Do people keep them just for kicks and giggles or what?

I have always wondered the same thing.

I can see how the full time ebayers can't manage headcovers while moving a ton of inventory but for individual club traders, I just don't get it.

Darn good question because I wont buy a club that doesnt have the head cover, if it is supposed to have one! I guess I am funny that way! LOL

Golfsmith stores has a huge bin of headcovers! And they try to sell them for $5.00 each. trying to make money out of nothing.

I'm the same way. If no head cover is included, it makes you wonder if one was ever used on the club? Sometimes no cover = abused club, or even worse: counterfeit

Stuff of the tour vans usually won't include a headcover, sometime they wear out of get lost, but I think the vast majority in the used market have passed through a shop or seller that just never includes them and sells them separately.

My only clubs without matching headcovers somewhere (even if I don't use them) are a tour head and a couple clubs I purchased used.

They are either under the counter in the Pro Shop, in Boxes in the Starter's House or in the Cart Barn. I root through them to get what I want for the used clubs I buy. . .

This is even the case at the Private Country Club where I work. It's been like that the last two years. Unbelievable how many are lost, and no one ever comes back looking for them, or when they do, their headcover hasn't been returned.
