Katy golf courses

Wondering if anyone has played some of the Katy courses recently such as Cinco Ranch and Meadowbrook Farms. Were the courses in decent shape, given the weather? Thanks.

MBF is in great shape given the weather. Greens are really good and fairways in good shape. Some of the rough has been beat down by the heat and lack of rain. Played Cinco a couple weeks ago and it was also in good shape since it just reopened but was disappointed with the greens. All of them have dead rings around them (2 - 4 feet) where they extended them but the grass hasn't grown in yet...made some chips tough if you were just off the green or putting from the fringe. Greens were generally slow and bumpy.

Cinco Ranch was closed for a while but when it reopened, it was reported to be in very good shape. I understand they reworked bunkering and the greens. Well, we played it about 2 weeks ago and they had punched and sanded the greens, which was a bummer. They have done some patching around the perimeters of the greens.

Have not played Meadowbrook Farms in quite some time now.

River Ridge, just west of Katy, is phenomenal (at least it was about 2 months ago when I played it). We had a tourney there, and it was one of the better conditioned courses I have played in a long time. Our finals are going to be there as well, 27 hole event on all 3 nines. Should be a good time.

Meadowbrook is by far the best course in that area. Always In good shape and a pretty good layout

When I played Meadowbrook, I thought it was ok, but nothing to write home about. It was better than Cinco Ranch, but not anywhere near as good as River Ridge.

How is Cinco now or Cypress Lakes? Any ideas? Thanks guys

Havent played Cinco Ranch in years, but Meadowbrook Farms is in good shape, playing long due to conditions. Cypress Lakes greens are fast & in good shape, fairways are harder than most in area now so you'll get more roll. I would consider River Ridge in Sealy over those two cause I love the layout - 27 holes usually no wait. Good shape & green are quick.
