Made my first Hole-in-one last weekend

While playing in our local Chamber of Commerce golf tournament, I made my first ever Hole-In-One. The hole played about 125 to a small, elevated, narrow green surrounded by water. The wind was blowing into us about 20mph. I hit a 3/4 8 iron, one bounce, and in the hole.

Well, the prize for the hole-in-one was 4 days, 3 nights at either the TPC San Antonio or the TPC Sawgrass plus airfare. It includes 2 rounds of golf for 2 people. I'll be going with my Dad who's been my only coach for 15+ years, taught me the game good enough to play D II College golf. I live 2 hrs from San Antonio, but either way, I chose TPC Sawgrass and I'll be staying at the Marriott Sawgrass.

I'm waiting on the vouchures, but I was looking for advice as to the best time of year, should I play in the morning, afternoon, day of the week. Also, my Dad says there are two courses. Is the other course nice? He said he'd pay to play the other courses.

I'm glad to see these hole-in-one prizes are bogus, they are for real. I can't wait.

Thoughts, advice?

Congrats on the hole in one!!!! I played Sawgrass middle of September last year and had a morning tee time on a tuesday. Perfect conditions. I'd suggest getting a pretty early tee time for the simple reason of being able to replay it. You won a free trip so why not pay for a replay rate! The other course is the Valley course. I thought this course may be tougher. The rough was brutal, but this may have to do with the fact that there was a Nationwide event that was coming in 2 weeks. You will be blown away by the clubhouse and I would ask to have a tour of it. We had an older gentlemen give us the tour and he even took us in the members locker room(he told us it was off limits, but we weren't sure if he just said that to make us feel cool) Anyway, enjoy your trip!

Thanks! Not only was it my first, but it counted too!

I'll take your advice on the Valley course. My Dad said he'd pay for it since I'll be taking care of his TPC fees as part of the package. I also like to play in the mornings, but getting a replay would be great. I'll also as for a tour of the clubhouse, I think that stuff is neat.

I'm considering using it in the spring around my birthday, but I'm not sure how much time I'll have to use the vouchers.
