Wilson 888 Black Putters

That's interesting...I have a Rife Mid Mallet that rolls pretty much straight of the face due to the grooves, but which I have to hit harder than my old 8813 to get to the hole, losing a bit of feel in the process. I don't notice it so much with the 8883 and 8883 Blk, so perhaps the 8882 is the best of both worlds...just need to find a store where I can roll it!!!

I just bought a 8882 Black for € 55,- in a Christmas Special at a local golf shop. So far, I could only try it at home on my putting mat and on my wooden floor. It feels great and the ball starts rolling straight and true immediately. So far, I think that it will be especially good on fast greens. I have played with a Cleveland Classic #2 Black almost all of last year, and everything about the Wilson Black seems to be very similar. The only reason I bought it was that, next to the 8**3 style of the Cleveland Classic #2, I also wanted a real blade 8**2 style. I am really looking forward to using both of them next year.

^^^LOL...man Ive been putting with that putter in Golfsmith for the past 6mos and havent bought one. The first time I tried it it was just as you experienced. I was making putts all over the place. It hasnt been quite the same since, but I still seem to make an unusual amount of putts with it in the store in comparison to other putters I try...even in comparison to the Cleveland Classic I currently use. I really do like the look of it and I like the grip too. Ive been putting pretty good lately and not really in the market to change putters, but this Wilson certainly surprised me with its feel and performance...at least in the store.
