Retractable Tether System.that works with most range finders....

Has anyone tried the retractable sether system callled "QuickDraw" by Leupold? This thing is pretty impressive and it will basically work with most lasers/rangefinders, GPS, Electronic devices, and even cell phones.. It also comes with both an belt attachment/holster and also a cart attachment.

I've lost 2 GX-3s this year, both in cartpath only situations where I had it way away from the cart.

It pretty much the same device but COMES with the cart mounting bracket.

Earlier this week I was on the phone with Leupold to see if they had any GX-2 cases as a replacement for my GX-3 case (which they didn't) when I saw the add for this in The Global Golf Post. Leupold doesn't carry them - only available through their retailers. So I ordered one online from a gun shop that was priced less than the Golfsmith price if I bought it locally. Should arrive tomorrow. Looks to be a perfect solution. I walk 90% of the time so I don't care about the cart mount.

I owned a Quick-Draw briefly last year to use with my Gx-3i. The problem that I had was that the clip holding the retracting portion held the unit too tight. I really had to pull to get the unit free to use. It just wasn't practical for me. I think the concept is really good but the design didn't work for me. I ended up returning the item.

Awful!

I thought it look awesome and was a great idea ... no way. I tried every day for a month and couldn't figure out any place decent to put it. It's way too large and bulky. I think it was really made from hunters, who are all dressed with gear and need to add one more thing to the outside of their hunting vest.

FORGET this thing for golf!

You must have not had it put together right, as it easliy fit on the front frame of the card as well as the rear from for easy reach. Once strapped into place is detracts easily between shots. I never used the stringed tether system, I always used the "lock n click" function to keep it from getting lost.

Great product in my opinion.

I suppose it never occurred to you, that someone else was equally as smart as you and was able to figure out how to put it together?

& possibly there are folks on this forum, who actually WALK when they play golf and don't have the need to drive from hole to hole?
