Question 1: With the past years introduction to slots, on fairways. Nike is the only one who has put the compression channel on there driver. Why does the RBZ driver not have a slot, are there restrictions or ???

Question2: What measure did you go through to make sure the speed slot does not interact harshly or badly with turf.
Q1 Drivers are already at the COR limit due tothe deeper, larger face area vs a fw, so the Speed Pocket design would makethem too fast.

Q2 The edge of the Speed Pocket are designedwith radii similar to the leading edge radii of a standard fw head, so there is no issue with ground contact. - TO

Regarding your new wedges, I have played Vokeys for many years. BUT I always have to have specific grinds put on them as I play my 54* with one grind then my 60 with a completely different grind. I try different grinds now and then, but usually go back to the tried and true. How will these wedges feel when a player is used to a high bounce with heel relief and a low bounce heel & toe relief? Currently, my gamer bag is totally TM except for the wedges. I'd like to make it 100% but I'm EXTREMELY particular about these clubs. Thanks for taking your time for this forum. Skip

I'm glad to hear that you know the behavior/performance of your wedges so well. It shows you can appreciate the utility of all the contours of a wedge sole. The new ATV wedge incorporates heel and toe relief, and because of the central channel accross the sole, it offers high bounce from soft conditions and lower bounce from firm conditions or chip shots. The leading edge is designed to be low to the ground, even when you open the face, which allows for lob shots and versatility from the bunker. In all, the entire package of ATV will meet all of your wedge needs without having to execute specialty grinds. We can say this confidently becuase of years of Tour testing this ATV sole to perfect the needs of the best players from all conditions. -BW

did you use wind tunel technology for the aerodinamyc design of the r11s? or what kind of tech did you you use for testing and impoving the head? in the video is stated that it is less resistent. do you have the Cx of the r11 vs r11s?

Why can't you put a third weight on the R11s like the SuperTri Drvier?
We have found that the added flexibility provided by the combination of ASP and FCT covers the majority of loft/trajectories needed.

The third weight on the SuperTri does two things: 1) adjust loft/vertical trajectory which is covered by FCT/ASP

2) provide more weight settings but at a cost of overall head weight

To be honest, we did see speed benefits when golfers moved the heavy weight forward on the SuperTri, but not many golfers figured this out on their own. In the new R11S driver, the two weights are positioned slightly forward so that everyone can get the extra speed of forward weight.

Can you explain the change in Paint that was used for the new Putters? I know that there a few issues (Didn't personally experience) but White WILL show every chink in the armor...I'm very curious as to how it's been improved.
The new white finish on the Ghost Tour and Ghost Manta line of putters was designed to be more premium and durable. The premium comes from a higher quality of paint that you would see on a luxury car that has more of a metallic pearl in the white paint. The durability comes from the 3 layer paint system, which includes a base primer layer, a pearlized second layer and matt clear coat for final durability. With the new finish we have developed the shapes of the putters to account for the mill thickness of the paint to get the clean and desired shapes. Hope that helps -BW

Is the RBZ 3 wood longer off of the ground rather than a tee due to the slot on the bottom and hitting it lower on the face?
No. All clubs, including irons, are longer off the tee because it is easier to get the CG below the ball at impact.

Are all of the TM Tour players on board with this new technology? Seems like it could get a little troublesome always having to change your numbers because the equipment is getting longer.

Also, How long did it take for TM to develop this new technology? Was it being developed even when the Burner technology was being introduced?
Many of our tour pros have hit this product andare very excited about it. We get callsevery day, asking when they can get theirs.

Technologies like this take about 3 years tofully develop and package into new products. Due to the very large volumes ofproduct, our production rampup times, in the last 6 months before shipments, take considerably longer than other manufacturers. We also launch product formaximum effectiveness in the spring, which is by far the biggest part of theseason. - TO

With the RBZ series you moved away from the non conventional driver shape and back to the conventional look. Because of this are you taking away any forgiveness that was in the Burner line from last year?
We expect no loss of forgiveness with RBZversus Burner 2.0. Forgiveness is afunction of many things, head performance, how well the shaft/build fitsgolfers, etc. RocketBallz is longer and just as forgiving. -TO

what loft do you expect tour players to be playing in the RBZ woods? if they are hitting them as far as you say it seems as if it may be to much club.
We expect players to play RBZ woods that have slightly more loft so they aren't hitting it too far. (13 degree to 15). Wouldnt be surprised to see a long ball hitter play a RBZ 5-wood instead of a 3-wood. Or on the other hand, play a strong lofted RBZ 3-wood off the tee for control. -TO

Have there been any studies done to see how much distance is gained with the RBZ 3 wood for the average player ( 10-20 handicap)? Thanks!
Yes. TaylorMade testing shows that RocketBallz fairway woods will promote up to 17 yards of increased distance for players with swing speeds between 85-95 MPH. This distance gain is relative; in essence, players with higher swing speeds will see more distance, players with slower swing speeds will experience less.

Consider this data, and as an example, some of our TaylorMade Tour professionals have picked up up 25+ yards with RocketBallz fairway woods.

How does the compression slot work and how does this differ from the spring effect of the face as per golf governing rules.
All RBZ product is conforming to USGA andR&A rules governing spring like effect. The same .822/.830 COR rule is used for this. The big breakthrough is that steel fairwaysdo not approach these limits while RBZ does.

The Speed Pocket is one of 3 technical featuresthat provide the higher speed and longer distance. Feature #1 is the Speed Pocket whichincreases the flexibility of the sole of the club to allow Feature #2 theslightly Deeper Face to flex more than traditionally. Finally Feature #3, thelow/front Center of Gravity which creates faster speed and better launchconditions. - TO

Just got back from lunch, TMAG rocks. Thanks for the chat, my question is, being a science minded nerd , would the compression channel be likely to ever suffer from " work hardening " of the metal? That in turn could lead to fatigue fracture, how was this addressed and dealt with? Thanks, TMAG! Continue to bring great products.

I have a putter from the original ghost line. Will taylormade allow customers to send their old putters back for a re-paint with the new system?
The re-work process (strip the paint, etc) is intensive and costly. You would be better off getting a new product. -BW

Well we obviously know that the R11s fairway woods will allow for adjustably. What I am interested in is the setup of the Standard and Tour tour versions of the RBZ? Setup square, Open, Closed? Neutral, draw of fade weighted? Will these Tour versions of the RBZ be as fade biased as the Burner 2.0 TP?
