Living in California has made me spoiled. Easy access to Russian river, stone, firestone, ballast point, bruery. I am very jealous of you Midwesterners with access to 3 floyds, founders and goose island bcbs!
In AZ we get Founders and BCBS but I would gladly trade that for the CA distribution in a heart beat. When I was in CA a few weeks ago there were beers we will never see here that were just shelf turds, and I was on very limited time and only hit two spots on my way to my destinations. It is sick how much good stuff is in CA and how terrible it is that we are right next door and don't get access to much of the good stuff. The best part about CA distro is with the beers being easier to find and buy guys in Central US or East coast will trade with you for any of those you mentioned in a heart beat. I did see BCBS on tap hunter in a couple spots out in So Cal though. Might be worth setting an alert for it to see if it pops up near you.

Anyone join The Bruery societies?
thought about it but finding a reliable proxy and paying the extra shipping from CA to AZ to much of a PITA to deal with. Hopefully one day shipping booze across state lines will become less of an issue and expense. It seems to be hit or miss right now that shop in Escondido will ship but they charge insanely jacked up shipping. So far Tavour has been the best with a flat $15 shipping fee no matter how much you have purchased and they hold your order for about a month before they ship so it gives me time to build up and order.

I agree, I love the eastern beers, but I can survive off the SD beers and The Bruery... Plus the Firestones are an easy find. Got word Blk Tue is getting ready, I'm going to for the first time take a great beer to a steakhouse and Pay corkage... Can't believe the $800 bottles of wine, but they sell Heineken and Bud.. Really. Thinking a Choc Rain or BLk Tue or an Eclipse.

Anyone else a fan of pumpkin beers? I've got several more on my list, but this is a decent start. Not gonna start drinking them till it gets a little colder though

Never tried the ST Pumking, my two favorites are Almanacs barleywine and Avery Pumpkyn, but 13+ abv!

Great, make it easier for us to find!

Was highly disappointed in ballast point's pumpkin, had it Saturday...... Never again.

All great options I've also found a very good quad goes very nice with red meat.

Edit re pumpkin beers the only one I really have a desire to get is the Avery one that's like 14% abv. Other than that I'll stick to backwoods bastxxx in the fall

Drinking my Brandy barrel old scallywag from Coronado Brewing, gotta say even though I am not a brandy fan in the slightest it is a good and interesting combo to the barley wine. Should have bought more when i was in SD :-(

Drinking one of the Brewmaster Jack Rye Porters that was part of the messed up Tavour order, since they told me to keep them figured might as well give it a try. Not the worst beer I have had but pretty bland with thin mouthfeel for a pitchblack porter

http://www.beeradvoc...?ba=PeterIngemi

Thankfully the two barrel aged quads that I was supposed to get in the order will be here on Tues. They shipped a couple pint glasses as an additional apology for the messed up order.

Dying to get by hands on a Bourbon Barrel Plead the 5th. Heard many many good things.

Two of these came in today from Tavour. Quad aged in Jack Daniels Barrels

After Michigan's first win under Harbaugh, I had to crack open one of my 2014 Backwoods Bastards. Man, I forgot how damn good this beer is. Glad I have two more left, and that the 2015 stock should be out soon.

Unless you are familiar with the beer scene in Columbus, OH you probably have never heard of Hoof Hearted Brewing. Don't let the silly names of the beers (this one is Roller Blabe) or the goofy cartoons fool you, these guys are turning out amazing brews. They finally started canning so I brought a couple of these Roller Blabe DIPAs and a few of the SIPA called Musk of the Minotaur home with me. If you ever get to CBus seek their beers out.

This is a bold statement but I think this beer is as good as Sip of Sunshine.
