Drinking some Dogfish Raison D'etre. They stopped bottling it, but available in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Missed it.

That one is solid. The raison d'extra is a bit much. But if you want boozy, it's a solid choice.

A go to for me is Toppling Goliath's Psuedo Sue! They are local NE Iowa brewing company, but make a handful of the best IPAs you can get a hold of !!

 

Golden Nugget and Dorothy's World are two other tasty delights made by Toppling Goliath.

 

If you are ever in the area of Decorah, IA make sure you swing by the brewery and take a tour. Plus, its close to Wisconsin so you can swing by and pick up some New Glarus Spotted Cow too ;-)

I've never been into really dark beers, but tried a Pecan Praline Brown ale, and it was one of the best things I have ever tried. I may have to venture into Stouts and Porters to see what the fuss is about.

Go down the rabbit hole. But be prepared to enjoy some great beers along the way. I'm a hop head, but really don't like the pineapple sculpin because there isn't enough "bite" to it. But stouts and good porters can provide a deep flavor profile more so than IPAs.

Falling Rock taphouse is a good spot. They usually have Pliny on tap.

 

Supposedly there is a new dogfish hub there to, but I haven't checked it out yet.

Ended up at the Yard House. Green Flash West Coast on tap is solid.

Now a Rogue Cold Brew IPA. Very raw hop taste with coffee (?), good though.

I set up a little stout tasting with some of my closer co-workers for tmrw night, which is the 2nd of 11 nights on our annual work road trip to Florida. I brought BCBS, KBS, and BBA plead the 5th. It will be interesting to see what each one picks as the winner.

Bought a growler of Bell's Oberon on the way home today. Despite being a bit bland, I could see this being a great beach beer. May even be light enough for a day on the course.

Few good ones this week

SF Giants Spring Training and Anchor perfect combo

 

Easter Sunday Cracked my Regal Rye, interesting combo of flavors with the cherry blackberry and salt. Not something I would seek out at great lengths but enjoyed it

 

Kicked a couple IPA's today after getting some bad news, Ska Mandrina, and Founders All Day and picked up another bottle of 2015 BCBS regular

Yeah my local spot held theirs back and put it up for sale on 3/17 funny thing is they realized once the hype had passed people stopped expecting it to be available and stopped asking. They still have 4 bottles in the cooler and another 4-5 behind the bar.

 

 

Also i saw a whole foods put out a couple cases this week. Last year there was enough held back at distro that there was mid summer re release events

Bought a six pack of left hand nitro stout the other day for the hell of it. Gotta say I'm more of a coors light guy but I was very impressed. Might be time to broaden my horizons a little.

The vanilla porter is mediocre in bottles, but the nitro draft was like a completely different beer altogether. In a good way.

Just found a local liquor store that had psuedoSue in 16oz cans, 4 packs, for $10. I only picked up one, dummy. They also had Golden Nugget in bottles..

Oh, and a GREAT Surly selection!
