Is it worth the heckling I would get???

I saw an advertisement for this on "Group Golfer Ohio" (subscribed to it on FB) ... Although it appears somewhat functional, maybe even practical, and very affordable (currently 2 for $10.00) - I dont know if it is worth carrying this huge clip with me up to a green or otherwise.

I currently carry a towel from the cart or one of those divot switchblade things.

If you're worried about your club just lay it down next to or over the flagstick when the flag is out of the cup. Or lay it down on a path that is back to your cart/bag. Both of these methods prevent you from losing the club. Don't get the club sitter, it will waste time and look stupid.

Waste of money..bet you'd use it for about 4 holes and realize it is a pain in the s$$. Save the cash and keep using the divot tool or a tee to keep the grip off the ground.

This product is definitely targeted for the market of people who have trouble bending over. I don't think it's fair to say these are pointless when they can allow some golfers to continue to play the game due to medical conditions.

I'd say it fits into a category with this:

Its cheap if you will use it, but its not for me. Im with 'nochct1' - leave the club on the path back to the cart.

The only person I've ever seen use this was I guy who just had surgery after being shot in the ankle. He could barely limp so he used this and the thing on the grip of the putter to pick the ball out of the hole. So quite honestly, unless you were just shot, don't use this thing it isn't worth it. Just put the club near the hole or on your path back to your bag if you're worried about losing it. Or, god forbid, take that extra 30 second trip back to the bag and putt away all clubs you don't need.

The Fore Inventors Only show...the winning product was called the Club Caddy...this one looks pretty much the same.

To answer the OP's question, definitely not worth the heckling you would get. I would categorize this like the brush tees...pretty sure they work to serve a purpose, but why would you want to??

I purchased one of the original Club Caddies; which this looks to be less expensive copy. I found it to be very inconvenient to use. I went back to using a tee.

When the grass is wet in the early morning, or after the sprinklers have been running, I'll lay my wedge or other approach club on the edge of the green, and put a tee under the grip so it keeps the grip dry. I already have tees in my pocket so it isn't anything extra to carry to the green with me.

First off, it's good to bend to grab your clubs off the ground, stretches the hamstrings

No but seriously, I prefer keeping the towel with my near the green anyways, plus I usually just use a tee to keep the grips from touching the wet grass. Easy in, easy out , tiny and something that you always have on you.

Last thing us golfers need is ANOTHER thing to carry around. Not for me.

FWIW, that guy said the show/manf ruined his product if I recall... They made it so cheap it wasn't worth having. The snazzy rubber grippy things would fall out, the handle would snap where they had the cutouts made, the spring was cheap pot metal and wouldn't hold, etc. I bought one for my mom when they came out after the show, and it was a POS.

Best, most convenient tool for golf I have purchased in a long time.  I clip it to the outside of

my golf bag and grab it in 2 seconds to take with me from cart to wherever my ball has

landed.  So much easier and CLEANER than taking a towel that becomes wet and soiled!

Try it and I think you will feel the same way I do.  Keeps my club dry and clean and I don't

have a smelly cloth towel to carry around the course and end up in the trunk of my car!
