Vibration dampener in putter shaft

Got the vibe by Dave Hicks and other solutions.

Have you ever noticed that if you putt with a putter at Dicks or Golf Galaxy, when the putter shaft has one of the alarm system devices clipped on the shaft. The putter feels so much better. I always ask the guy at dicks to take it off so I can really feel the putter. This is also true with the Sam putting lab device. I did some research and this is because it dampens the vibrations from the head and shaft. Dave Hicks the putter maker figured this out and built a device that you stick in your putter shaft that makes your putter feel much better called "Got the Vibe". I was just wondering if anyone else has ever put anything in their shaft to produce the same effect. Maybe some type of rubber or something. And not just the frequency shaft or anything like that.
I tried to find something rubber to stuff in my shaft today that would result in the same effect but could not find anything. Has anyone ever tried this and what did you use.

Dowel the shaft like you would an iron.

I recently did a SAM putter fitting and noticed that I made a smoother swing and that the club seemed to "load" with the SAM apparatus attached. I have been told that I am not the first one to notice this. It was recommended to add a 45 gram weight at the balance point of the shaft to simulate the attachment.

I am still trying to find the best way to accomplish this!

And they definitely feel terrible with the SAMS unit on... that thing adds a significant amount of vibrations.

I do however like the added weight personally (the SAMS triplet weighs around 110g I think?) but then again I have always preferred a slightly heavier putter! Its not ideal for a fitting really with all that extra weight changing the swing weight.

The dowell is probably the easiest way, but it doesn't seem like it would have enough weight to make a difference?

You could probably do this pretty easily with some type of masonry anchor bolt. They come in all sizes and you could control the weight (a bit) with smaller or larger screw lengths.
