prov1x for me, although the srixon z star xv is worth noting. swing speed is high teens to low 120's on avg. durability is an issue with the prov1x as well as over spinning full shots from 8 iron down. both are still great though. the zstar xv lacks a little on and around the green and the verdict is still out until I get a chance to play some hard and fast greens.

Z star xv. Outstanding ball and I don't lose anything around the greens. Play driver was 128-130 on track man this past weekend.

Compared to the Prov1x what are your findings? Which is longer off the driver, irons and short game as well as putter.

Srixon Z-STAR XV Tour Yellow. My SS is ~110 mph which isn't GolfWRX fast, but is reality fast.

Just wondering what golf ball you use on the course, why, what swing speed do you have?
[/quote]

Driver=115mph.

Use the ProV1x. Best balance of spin off of all clubs. Gives low spin off the driver, but moderate spin off of short clubs. The courses that I play do not have hard greens, so I don't need tons of spin to get the ball to stop. In fact, too much spin, and I have to worry about balls ripping back away from the hole.

The ProV1x is great at simply stopping close to its pitchmark.

The xv spins a slight bit less overall compared to the pro v1x. I think the xv is slightly longer and fits my game better. Pro v1x spins a bit too much for me. Both are very soft off the putter.

Driver swing speed 1-teens....

Most of the time last 2 years using the B330 (had Bridgestone fitting, suprise their ball won), liked the ball and cheaper than prov1x so no problem but....Scores we on avg lower the handfull of rounds I used ProV1x, is it the ball?? who knows maybe I was just swinging better those days....

I have 5doz ProV1x (2011 version) in basement for this year so we'll see....

Z star x white and xv tour yellow. I like the tour yellow for holding up to wedge shots over pro v1x. I got similar spin with both v1x being slightly harder but they scuff way too easy with vokey raw wedges. Distance off driver is about the same, but I tend to get less side spin with the srixons. Average driver ss is 127 with 44" playing driver. Took a note from bubba and went shorter 1" than normal.

Avg 115ish. I use the tour B330. Between that and the zstar xv, it seems to spin the least for me (which is too bad, because I liked the yellow cover on the xv). I don't have trouble stopping the ball, and like to either roll the ball or hit it high around the greens, so short game spin isn't a big issue (besides, I'm just not good enough yet to have short game precision be a selling point).

As a matter of fact, after reading a few threads around here, I'm thinking of trying some cheaper two piece balls. Because I spin it so much, I figure it would be a lot cheaper to do that than to change out the shafts in my irons. I used the Pinnacle Exception for years, and it stuck almost immediately, given how it performed for me at the price. I was a little bothered when they stopped making it.

The other thing that I look for in a ball besides low spin is that I don't want it jumping off the putter too quickly. It was never something that I paid attention to before this year, but I've found that the balls that seem to really jump off the face on the greens seem to be harder for me to putt consistently with.

I really like the performance I get out of the B330s ball. Great feel, distance, accuracy, control and spin.....not sure what else you could want.

Never tried the B330 (non s)........wondering how it compares?

It's supposed to spin less than the s.

Nike One Tour D, or One Tour depending on course conditions. Driver SS - 120. The One Tour does tend to spin a bit too much, but it is long, and is great when the courses become hard and fast in the middle of summer.

I play two depending on Course.....Dixon Wind ball for open fwws and long holes, Dixon Earth for tighter fwws and playing for score on accuracy needed courses. I am in the 120 range and the Earth is a softer ball and offers more spin when I need to make sure I hit my spots on rusy days. While the Wind is harder compression ball that will run and stay on straight path with little working for me.

I am new to the site though a very avid golfer and I as well play the Pro V1 and Pro V1x with a swing speed of 120 plus with the driver and reaching as high as 135. I have played srixon soft feel and Zstar SL and T.M. Penta's and feel that for me the ProV1 is the best for me do to the playability around the greens. The penta I lost 15 yards compared to the ProV1 and the srixon was very similar to distance. I did this comparison at the local course I worked at on hole 9 which is a 345 yard par 4. with the Penta I was consistently 60 yards short of the green, with the ProV1 and the srixon I put 1 on the green and two pin high off to the right of the green. The biggest thing that I found out was with the urethane covers gave me more control of the green and around the green. Though, for maximum distance off the tee for my swing speed I found pinnacle balls (used in long drive contests) to be the deepest drives. I dont know how much this helps, though I do try many golf balls each summer and hope that my personal experiences can help out.

Driver SS floats around 118-120 pretty consistently. Used to play the ProV1x exclusively until my wallet decided that was just silly when the cover doesn't even last one round... Now play the Nike Vapor Black and believe it or not, they are AWESOME. Fly off the driver with a nice workable ball flight. The wedges sit down very nicely for me, but definitely don't pull back like the V1x. The irons are where the ball shines, they feel great and work and sit very well. At $20 a dozen I haven't found a better ball.
