Toms, Micheel to go

Golfweek is reporting that Toms will not be renewed by Cleveland Golf, along with Sean Micheel and some lesser known players. They want to cut back on their tour staff and Toms and Micheel are probably two big ticket players. Cleveland has always struck me as having a big tour presence. Probably time for them to reduce some costs since their parent was recently acquired by Quicksilver.

Quicksilver has a TON of money. I'm not sure that their acquisition is the reason to dump contracts. I don't think that's true. Plus, as the other poster said, they have owned cleveland for awhile now.

Cleveland has some sweet stuff that I saw when I played with a buddy @my club who's a Nationwide Tour rep. Micheel maybe going to TMaG, as he's already on staff for woods & is wearing Adidas apparel. He did let me know Toms will not return & said where ever he goes it won't be TM. Not sure if it's true or not but we'll see

Vijay isn't going anywhere - they aren't renewing contracts that expire this year. Vijay's doesn't expire this year.

i wonder where VT will go? i bet he goes to a smaller company like Srixon but you never know. he may jump on those sweet TM blades and join TMaG. Doesn't he already play a TM driver?

He's done at the end of the calender year. I'm sure they are testing new product as we speak. Is the Tom's signing with TM offical?

Well, David Toms already uses Titleist golf balls, so that wouldn't be much of a surprise. However, there are a lot of other companies willing to pay the right price to get more market exposure.
