Sonartec vs Tour Edge

I currently play an XCG-4 and am one of the people that do not like it at all. My swing speed is around 116, and this club balloons like crazy.

 

I am left handed so my choices are limited:

 

CB1 or NP-99

 

I will primarily be hitting this only off the tee.

Last year I moved from the GS Tour to the XCG 4. I liked the 4, but I also found it ballooned at times. This year I swapped out the XCG for the CB4, and I couldn't be happier. Still hits plenty high but doesn't balloon and gets great roll out on tee shots. It's definitely longer and more forgiving than the GS Tour, too (I thought I'd never give up the GS Tour). Consider giving the CB4 a try. I personally think it's very close in forgiveness to the XCG 4. My ss is 105.

The XCG-4 is a high launching club head. With your swing speed it's likely the CB line of Exotics is a better fit.

I'm pretty sure the NP-99 was a high launching club as far as Sonartec woods go.

I'm still rocking a CB1 and looking to upgrade to a CB4. its just an all around superior club. Design and flight

Since you are lefty, and if CB1 is your only option. get it and love it. lol
It is a great club off the deck, and tee. I just want to take advantage of some of the changes in the CB4. And my CB1 is starting to show its age after all the alterations and shaft changes. (i'd say at least 30 different shafts)

Did you find any particular head/shaft combinations that you really liked or did not like?

CB-2 will get the ball down and is very long.
