Where do you guys put your rangefinders??

Hi guys,

 

I just bought a used Bushnell 1500 w/ slope rangefinder yesterday and I'm still trying to figure out why I dont get readings from 100 yards and farther. Anyway, going back to my subject, where do you guys put your rangefinders while playing?

 

1)Do you guys use the case that it came with and wrap it to your golf bag? (Like how tour pros do) Only thing that concerns me is I might lose it doing that? I have a stand bag and I dont think it will be as secured as the staff bag? I dont know just guessing...

 

or

 

2)Do you guys just leave the case at home and just put your range finders in your golf bag pocket?

 

Just want to know what other fellas here do.

I bought the Leupold GX4 partially because of its small size. I usually carry it in my front left pocket and it is easily accessible. I carry an extra ball, tees, ball mark repair tool, and ball marker in my right pocket, I put my glove in my left back pocket when I putt. I keep the case in my bag and put the rangefinder back in the case after the round, but it stays in my bag so I have it when I need it. I have a friend that has the 1500 and he keeps it on his bag. He is pretty fast with it, grabs it from the case shoots once, puts it away, grabs a club, and fires. BTW, they call him Fast Eddie, he waste no time!

Yea, I think i'd be more comfortable with my rangefinder inside my golf bag inside of it dangling around my golf bag. Less thing to worry about!

I use a clicgear and bought the clicgear brand rangefinder case. It does dangle from the cart, but it attaches quite securely. The bushnell case is pretty nice though. I just used the strap to attach it to my bag.

Hopefully you get that distance problem fixed. Definitely replace the battery if you haven't already. If it doesn't work, a trip to the repair department will probably be in order

That's next on my list - Clicgear push cart! It's always nice to not carry anything and have all your stuff in your cart. I've seen a few people use it and they look so comfortable as supposed to me who's been carrying my bag and hearing my clubs hit each other. LOL! I think I just made a realization.. Having a push cart will help your clubs avoid club chatters and nicks! Genius!

I will go to the range this afternoon and try my rangefinder on different ranges. I hope I was just using it the wrong way yesterday. If not, like you said, i might have to find a repair center to check on it.

I have imy V2 in the case clipped to my bag , but when I;m playing it's in one of the cup holders on the cart... When I neeed excerise I go to the gym or for a jog...

I have a small Nikon rangefinder and it is in a small case that attached to my belt with a loop, also has a velcro closure. I can pull it out, use it, and put it back, in a few seconds, whether I am riding or walking. If you have a smaller rangefinder, this is the way to go, imho.

With the Green Fees going up, I can only afford one of them. So might as well play golf and do your cardio on the course as well! LOL!

I own an older Nikon 550G. I keep in in its case (other than when I use it, obviously) and in my left/front pocket. I would never own a rangefinder that I could not 'carry with me'.

I have the 1600 and keep the case wrapped around my stand bag through the handle. When I get to the course I keep it in the front compartment of the cart.

But I put it in a pocket if I am heading into the pro shop and have to leave the bag out.

When I carried, I clipped my Leupold to the towel ring in it's case. Now that I push a Clicgear, I just lay it in the net out of the case. That is another reason I love the CG 3.0, my range finder is so easy to access just laying there in the net out of the case. It takes two seconds literally. I do not have to put it in and out of the case 20 plus times per round.

I have my LR550 diablo version hooked on the sun mountain speed cart. The cart has a convenient little hole right under the grip. It's perfect for a face towel and the rangefinder

When I ride, I keep my Bushnell in the drink holder.
When I carry, I keep it in the valuables pocket in my Ping Hoofer bag.
And when I use my Bag Boy push cart, I keep it in the umbrella holder with a little contraption that I made (see pics).
