They maybe could be X-700 DG's. Tiger has not used DG Tour though. He used a special shaft between X-100 and DG Tour. Perhaps X-7 is that shaft.

Also, with his new irons he has changed to softer shafts. At the HSBC Champions(?) tournament where he started using the new irons, the announcers talked about how Tiger moved down to a "whippier" shaft in the new irons so he can hit the ball higher.

I'm trying to find a lower trajectory shaft. Today I tried precision rifles 6.0 w/ the TM MB 2006 head (monitor though) and I liked the feel of it. Maybe a 6.5 or even a 7.0 could possible be the answer. Can anyone give on opinion about rifle shafts? I hear they are supposed to transfer more efficiently energy to the ball, but I don't understand why tour players keep using DG if this is such a good update.

Rifles change the flex point throughout the set and will not really do what you are looking for. If DG's don't have a low enough flight for you the rifles won't be lower. DG tours will definitely have a lower flight but even double soft stepping them you better have a HIGH swing speed. The stiffer the DGs the lower the flight generally. The project X's will have lower flight than the rifles. If your swing speed is not too high (I assume it is not if you are playing 6.0's) then you may want to look into heads that are stronger lofted like the Titleist 695 cb's or something with less offset than you are playing now ( assuming you are not playing blades or something with little to no offset). Hope this helps.

As far as I know, Tiger uses tour x100's, and thats a 99.9% certain answer. never heard of x-7's.

Not to start debate or anything, but I know for a fact that he uses normal X-100s

I would have to go on the butt marking to be able to tell what it is.

Also If you can tell me what is the measurement from the edge on the hosel to to the 1st step on the 5 iron and also what iron are they. It would help a lot for me to tell what exactly that is. Last source is to ask TT guy of course.

Since they are our sponsor, we should get an answer fairly easy.

Talking about TT, has anyone being to their website lately. It is not showing, maybe it is my web browser. Also, what is the deal with the merger of Rifle, and TT companies? My take is that Black Gold will be dropped. going back to the original topic. How can I try the other DG X models. I'm about to get a new set of blades and might want to try X-200, or 300 since this are the only heavy options in DG that I could get from my golf dealer.

Yes, DGTIX7 are the Dynamic Gold Tours. Only a couple pro's use them, H.K, J.D for example. They are X7 in flex and the stiffest shaft TT makes. They are only available through our Tour Concept dealers.

To end any debate- Tiger plays regular old X100, he used to have them tipped, but now they go straight in.

Curious about the X-1004 label. Never seen that before, could be a special label for the OEM.

I've got a set of MacGregor 675 Tour Issued irons with DG Tour shafts that are hard stepped in them.

That should make them X10 or something like that----but they don't play as stiff as they sound! They're butt and tip stiff, but the mid-section of the shaft flexes nicely.

I'd actually play them except for the lack of feel in the short irons---I've got to swing full to flex 'em and half swings don't quite get it.

The 4 iron actually carries further than my Z-101/ TC X1 shafted irons---which shocked me.

I plan on trying them soft-stepped once.

I like heavy shafts and generally take a divot on iron shots.

To me the DG Tour shaft is nice feeling and hits the ball with less spin---both less backspin and sidespin, making them very long AND straight hitting.

My son is a club pro who plays in some big tournaments. He's currently testing DG Tour shafts installed straight, soft-stepped once and soft-stepped twice to see if they might help bring down his ball flight---which can balloon a little in the wind with his swing speed.

True Temper,

Do you have any knowledge as to when the PX's are going to be shipped out? I heard this week sometime.

Croonie

Croonie,

We have been shipping at around a 6 week lead time for the past 4 weeks. I don't know when you placed your order or through whom, but count on at least 6 weeks.

Don't confuse Tour Flighted Rifles with Rifles. Tour Flighted changes kick (or flex) point through out the set... not regular Rifles.

True Temper,

I'm ordered them through Bridgestone and they said they are completley out of stock of the PX. About 4 weeks ago they told me this and they said they had no clue as to when they were getting more. Thank you.

Croonie

We have completed every Bridgestone PX order that was placed before 11/22.

TRUE TEMPER,

Are the Project X Flighted constant weight ?? Any pros playing ??

Any update on a Black Gold constant weight ???

THANK-YOU VERY MUCH

PX Flighted is a constant weight shaft. Most of the pros you have seen playing PX lately have actually been playing the Flighted shaft.

With the aquisition, the need for a constant weight BG isn't as much of a priority.
