Wow Rebby, went to that site and all I can say is I'm a tad envious....just a tad. :-0 Super collection you have there!!

BTW I know you say the tel3 is your best feeling putter but for me this Newport select 1.5 I picked up is the softest feeling putter in my hands yet.
I went from 34" which I've been at all my life to a 35" in the Scotty 1.5. It's easier on my back and I think I'm hitting the sweet spot more often. Regardless I've gone from 38-42 putts per round to 26 today. I got 32 putts my 1st round the other day. I loved my blades but going back to the anser style has so far been a real boon for me.

Comparable yes, but not the same. I've had my Select side by side with my Tour Rat a few times and the TR has it's differences. Unfortunately for me, differences that I actually prefer. I'll try to get some side by side pics later this week. I need to update my WITB anyway.

I grabbed some pics of the 2 putters. Not side by side but it's pretty easy to see the obvious differences anyway. Bottom 2 putters in [url="http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/672608-gotta-love-cameron-newports/"]this thread[/url]. You can clearly see the variation in the cavity, the smaller bumpers on the TR and the straighter toe line on the TR. There are other differences as well but those are the most obvious. The toe and bumpers are very apparent from address.

Bro, I never said they were the same. I said for $2,700 less, they are a legitimate option. I can definitely tell the differences between the two, thanks.

If Scotty stamps a Circle T on the Select in the bottom photo it sells for $2700. People pay for that little stamp. Take the Rat and remove the stampings and stamp it with Select and you think you'lI get $2700..I say no...In the end they're all just little chunks of milled steel....not bashing Scotty as I have a couple. It's just amazing how we the masses have driven up the price of something as simple as a putter.

Well, in the case of the Rat.. it's not available outside of the tour. So, you're going to pay market value to get one. Not saying it's right or wrong.. it just is what it is.

[/quote]Exactly. That's the way it is. The Rat is a great stick too. I love mine. As Pure745 already said though, the Select is a good, much more affordable, option.

On that note, Pure745, I was just pointing out the differences so that those who were less informed than I know you to be, wouldn't be misled. I know that I've read things wrong in the past. It's always nice to have more details.

The "chrome trim" is simply a step in the milling. That's just raw stainless showing through, you could easily paint them but the "step" would still be there.

From what I have seen the chrome is polished steel. It would be very difficult on the black models. You could use a steel brushing tool (or scouring pad)...but it wouldn't be ideal.

Does anyone know where to get the transparent paint? Like thr original red in the cherry dots and weights? Im buying a Golo in the next week or two and plan on doing a murdered out theme to it. I need the cherry dots and weights to have that shiny, see through look though. Any ideas?
