lost iPhone on course

Played 12 holes and had to leave because of how long it took. So I am driving back to the club house as fast as possible and turning fast and going over bumps. I get to the club house and realize my iPhone is not in the cart anymore. I drive back as far as I can remember and try and re-trace my ride looking on both sides of the cart path for my phone. No dice. I was leaving for vacation right after so I had a 3.5 hour car ride so I had to leave knowing my phone was on the course somewhere..

 

Get to my inlaws house and pull up find my iPhone on www.icloud.com and click the hybrid view. I can literaly see my phone (the dot) right next to a greenside bunker next to the cart path at the 11th green. I call my buddy who lives 30 mins away from the course (great friend) and he drives over there at 10:00 pm last night and finds the phone within 5 minutes. you have to cross a resedntial street between the 11th gren and 12th tee-box so it was easily accessible.

 

Just thought I would share this. Thought it was pretty funny but also amazing how awesome th find my iphone feature truly is. by the way shot a 41 on the front nine with 5 putts for pay the lipped out! great for me as I shoot in the high 80's low 90's usually!!!

Someone posted a while back about his bag being stolen, and he tracked his phone using a different app right to the guy's front door.

Droid's have many similar apps available as well to do this.

Check out this story involving my coworker!!!

About a year ago he gets a call from his son who just got home from high school. "Dad! we got robbed!" Their house was cleaned out of brand new 50" LCD TV, Macs, Blue Rays, cash, jewelry, and an iPad they were loading with pics and apps for the grandparents. My coworker takes off from his desk and races home. At a red light he pulls out his own iphone and uses Find My iPhone to GPS locate the iPad... The thieves had turned on the iPad to play with it and in doing so activated the GPS!!! My coworker immediately called the cops and gave them the exact location of the burglers' house. The cops recovered the stolen goods and a lot more stuff such as machine guns and drugs.

BTW They think it was a cable TV installer who passed the info to the burglers. He installed the cable to all the new hard goods a few days earlier and knowledge of the house and products.

Very interesting observation. I have to be honest...I always get a little nervous when I have a service provider in my home. Same thing with door-to-door sales people. Not that I have a ton of nice stuff, but sometimes it doesn't take much...especially if someone knows golf equipment and sees a couple CT's I have in the corner of my living room...

Same here, if Big Brother is looking in on me, it will be like watching the most boring TV program - something you would find on BBC.
