Lamont?

Anybody had success contacting Lamont for putter work lately? I know he had some family stuff but I cannot get a response to my emails. We had a email conversation going about him doing a new putter insert for my Taylormade Japan Issue Itsy Bitsy and communications broke down.

His email was down a few days ago for a couple days try again I know it is back up now. Probably never got your emails delivered to him

It sounds like even after he THOUGHT it was fixed, some guys were not receiving emails.
I will give him a shout and see what I can find out. IIRC, he was talking about this project a while ago, not a new project. My best bet is that he got sidetracked and never found his way back to this insert work. Not an excuse, but something that I know he is working on getting fixed.
I'll post what I find.

Spoke to him and it is as I had suspected, and he feels a little embarrassed about not having this insert taken care of.
He said that he received two new emails from the OP, this morning and one was an email that he had replied to, as soon as he thought he had a good email system working, last Friday. He will be responding this morning as soon as he gets a chance.
Thanks for bringing the situation to WRX, it sounds like there may be others who did not receive any word, in the same manner as you.

Thanks for reading my original post and looking into this for me. Lamont did infact contact me a few hours ago and hopefully things will start happening now.

I can not say enough about lamont. He is a great putter maker/fixer/faber but even better guy. I talk to him far to much about everything but putters haha. I consider him a great friend. If he starts screwing you around tell him Josh will be coming on over LOL Again he is a great guy and a pleasure to work with.

Live in Gurnee? I'm in Pleasant Prairie and work in Highland Park. You play at bittersweet a lot?

He told me that the site is being totally rebuilt and has been down far longer than he ever anticipated. He tried to keep in touch via a blog, but if you know LaMont very well, tech is not his niche and time is not very plentiful
On the bright side, I got some new pix of my putter in the works, yesterday and hopefully I can get them posted in my thread.

News for the guys who have been thinking of asking about custom work out of my shop or have not received a reply to an email.
First, my apologies for not being as quick on the reply as I used to be. Work is steady and I am still a one Mann shop, so the load has increased, exponentially.
Second, until further notice, I am no longer doing custom work on other makers' putters. If you have a putter in my shop, no worries, it will be done with the same quality of workmanship as always. I am not cutting back in that area, not at all.
I have some business in the works that will require more time than I currently have and working on putters made by others is where I have to start my cuts. Most of the makers have great custom shops and if they don't, a good friend of mine, Tom Slighter will take amazing care of you all.
The past years have been amazing with the work that you have all allowed me to do, but now I need to focus on an effort much closer to my own heart.
I am not leaving the industry, quite the opposite. Keep your eyes peeled and I think you'll like some of the changes that you will see in MannKrafted.
