Is this thread serious? Reason why I stay away from anything but the equipment forums. :lock:

Nuff said or this there room to argue?
Not only is there room to argue, people who actually think this should have their head examined.

Well - the thing is - he is the Nr. 2 in the world, he gets special treatment every Ryder Cup yet his performance is nowhere close to what he would be capable of.

Tiger played poorly Friday morning, granted....but he did not play that bad in his 4 ball matches....it was Stricker that was the dead weight. You can't win a four ball match on your own unless you have a Colsartes type day with 8 birdies and an eagle.....Stricker did nothing to help Woods....he left him hanging out to dry.

Stricker....by far....is the LVP.

The Stricker/Woods combo should just stop. It is abysmal. Furyk is rewriting his legacy as a choker over the last couple of years.
I don't believe there is any chance of Stricker being picked in 2014.
Unless he qualifies outright, ouch that would hurt !

But who else do you want to pair him with? As i understand it, he likes to play with his buddies and he aint got so many and he seems to be a difficult match for others for whatever reasons. Just think of the catastrophical Mickelson/Tiger pairing a couple years ago...
Furyk would be an obvious pick. Dustin or Zach Johnson would also work and so could Dufner or Sneds.

The only way anyone could think Tiger was LVP is if they are a combination of a Tiger "hater" and are completely illogical. Tiger played like crap in the alternate shot Fri morning but made 13 birdies in his next two rounds with little to no help from Stricker. He ran into a complete buzz-saw in Colsearts (no US team could have beaten him Fri afternoon) and then had another solid day with little help from Stricker on Saturday. He was making a charge Sunday afternoon until the match became meaningless.

Yes, he didn't win a full point, but there are several Americans who didn't play near as well as Tiger overall but simply had better pairings. That's the cool part about the Ryder Cup. It's not about play compared to all, just play compared to the two people/person you are playing.

Stop with the Tiger bashing. He should have done better but he was nothing close to the worst.

Mollinari wasnt that tough of a pairing and he didnt even care about the last putt and just handed it to him..... What does this say.

He got more points than Stricker. Stricker needs to be taken out back and shot.

He missed a putt that didn't matter? SO FREAKING WHAT. What about Stricker missing the putt Saturday afternoon? Or how about Mickelson not finishing Rose off? Or what about Furyk going bogey-bogey to close Sunday out? Or what about the fact that the US team lost 9 matches on Sunday? Any of that matter more than Tiger missing a putt after the cup was secured for Europe?

Tiger played poorly, but he was not LVP, but he did not carry anyone, like Poulter, Keagan, Cosearts did.

What bothered me was NBC made it sound like DL3 allowed Tiger to pick where he going out on Sunday...To me that screams of his lack of confidence in his game, OR his unbelievable ego that he thought he could save the team at the end, thus having no confidence in their ability to hold onto their lead.

Times change i guess - quoted from the main thread:

"In 2002 at the Belfry, Philip Price of Europe won the penultimate match against Mickelson to win the cup outright (15 points), and yet the American player in the last group kept on battling against Jesper Parnevik, refusing to let go.
That player was, you guessed it, Tiger Woods...
That match was eventually halved for a 15.5 / 12.5 result "
