Mat562 Needs to Come Back!

Completely agree, his comments were full of insight, fun, huge knowledge, and reminded me of the days I spent as a youth, peering into the bags of the greats, the not-so-greats, the goods, and the "any bag around will do".....come back mat!

mat562 and the gachet are indeed sadly missing from the boards recently, but given the level of hate, insults and bitching thrown their way for no apparent reason, I can hardly say I blame them for staying dark. I feel the same way too sometimes and have spent more than my fair share of time in the clink as a result of pointless sniping and arguments with (let's face it) relatively immature members. I would gladly welcome them both back, but ultimately they would soon be the victim of the same abuse. Me - I probably deserve the hate fest. But mat562 and the gachet - no way. You will not find two posters who have contributed to the forum on the same level.

mat562 had some great posts. My favorite was when his wife gave him the ultimatum to clean out the cupboard or "there'll be no more 'How's your father.'"

i always liked Mat's posts. I've always like yours too....it's just sad that people would leave because of that. In the end, truthfully....that's how the idiots win. I know Mat knew Lee Westwood growing up, and when he made it to #1 the forum decidedly turned on the euro tour and Westwood for reasons that aren't really clear to me, probably though having to do with a strong Tiger Woods and pro-PGA tour bias.

But it would be easy to understand that pretty much all of the educated members liked Mat and didn't hold that bias. He never needed to engage with the morons spewing that nonsense. You can't expect everyone on the internet to be a good guy. At some level he just needed to stop posting in some of those stupid, hate filled threads and just communicate with the guys that make the site what it is, not the idiots who join on thursday and are banned by sunday

It would be nice to see him back. And i certainly hope you stick around too

Always thought highly of Matt's wit and knowledge of golf history, particularly equipment of European tour stars. His intelligent discourse is greatly missed, now Mtljeff, Thrillhouse, & Jaskanski.... that's another story.... gotta go before wheelie bin is set a light by hoodlums
