That would be my question though - why bend/adjust a 16.5 head to 14.5 when TM produce a 14 head. Just curious....

^^^ If the head is indeed adjusted open to lower the effective loft, that is why - it's not 14.5* with a neutral face angle.

Fair enough... I thought that face angle/loft relationship only applied to interchangeable shaft adapter systems.

Majority of the guys on tour prefer to have their clubfaces opened up at address by a few degrees. If Jason went with the 14* and had it opened up to his liking it might end up with an effective loft in the 12* range which probably wouldn't give him the flight or yardage he was looking for. Pros have been doing this for years, the adjustable clubs has made it more of an option now to have this same adjustment for the general public along with making the adjustments easier for tour players. So, I think more or less it's done to give him the desired loft and face angle he wants.

ON POINT MK.

I'd like to also add I play the ABTP 3HL paired with a Fuji 757 and it's the best fairway wood I've ever hit. Not sure what the actual loft is. Mine does sit a bit open, maybe 1* open.

Fantastic 3 wood. I can only imagine how good his feels muted with hot melt put in the right spots.
