Anyone gaming the Miura New Wedge Series

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I have been lurking on this site for a while and decided to finally post. I had read a ton of information regarding the new Miura wedge series and talked myself into buying one last week. I was in myrtle beach and decided to talk with a guy in pawleys island about building one for me. I ordered the 55 degree with a kbs tour shaft stiff flex and golf pride gp z cord. I am a bit funny about my wedges and therefore have been playing a founders club "the defense" 55 degree wedge for what seems an eternity, can't remember when I bought the set of the judge irons and that wedge but it was when they were first released.

I have hit a ton of wedges in the past 5 years ranging from Cleveland's, pings, vokeys, mizunos, you name it. I just haven't found anything I liked better. My question is to those who have played or seen the new wedge series what do you think of them and are the heads any larger than the vokeys and mizunos. Btw the only reason I bought site unseen is I have a playing partner that will buy the wedge for what I paid for it if I don't like it. Thanks for your help/input.

I'm playing a 53 with a kbs c-taper xs, and I can say without a doubt I love it. It's better than the Clevelands I've owned by a wide margin. I've not played a Vokey, so I can't directly compare it. I can say that you're going to love it. I feel like I have great distance control with mine.

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

I have two rounds and four range sessions in with this wedge and it is fantastic. I have to admit that the range sessions have been limited to only 5-10 balls per session just because I am weird and don't want to bang this beautiful club up. My first round I hit a little half shot into an elevated green with a tucked pin and about made it. The distance control and feel of this wedge is phenomenal not to mention the amount of spin I can put on the ball. I will be a miura fan boy for life and will probably by a full set within the next year or so.

They're outstanding wedges, with the Miura feel that is often immitated, but never duplicated. They shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Vokeys. There's nothing similar about them.

I play the 51, 55, and 59 miuras. Craftsmenship is second to none, it's painful to be hitting shots and see i am putting dents on them. One of the softest wedges I have hit, and I have played with all those brands out there all these years. My DG spinner shafts in them contribute to their greatness! It's just pure pleasure to put them in play!

I assume these are the same, but not sure since they are the left handed model. I got them in August and love them. The grinds seem to match my swing and course conditions very well. I have been through Taylor Made Rac TP wedges, Mizuno, Titileist SM4, Scratch, and a few others. These match my swing the best. Love them!

They look the same as the old wedge series just with odd numbered lofts and a wider sole.

About as good as you're going to find. If you're price conscious, you can still find the previous model for a great discount without losing a gram of performance.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.
