DW Davis putter

Been reading about DW putters on golfwrx, the good and the bad, and I sent him an email requesting information. He was very prompt with communication and, after a couple of days of back and forth emails, I ordered a putter today.

He said the putter will be ready in 4 weeks. I have requested a black oxide finish and to see the putter head (pics) after the finish has been applied, before paint fill has been applied.

I will update this topic with pics as I get them, pics of the finished putter, a playing review of the putter as well as a summary of my ordering experience.

Update: reached out to DW for an update on my putter. Communication was timely and informative, including a pick of my putter head and an update as to when I should receive the putter. He verified the stamping that I want on the putter as well as verified that he will send me a pic of the completed head, pre-paint fill. At that time I'll let him know what colors I want and where. So far I'm satisfied with the experience.

I'd love to see some pics, I got a variation of the #9, but was told he couldn't do the high toe, and deep milling on it. Post the pics you got.

Finally had a chance to play a round with the new putter so I'm ready to review this putter along with the whole experience.

Communication: For the most part D.W responded within 24 hours to any question I sent him. As this is my first time ordering a custom putter from anyone, having no point of reference, I rate D.W a B+ for communication.

Timeliness: D.W and I agreed to a delivery schedule prior to my placing the order. There were 2 delays in the production of this putter, 1 communicated before the fact, another communicated after the fact. As I paid up front for the putter and a schedule was agreed upon, I rate D.W a C for timeliness.

Putter: D.W did a good job on this putter. I had asked for heavy face milling and received what I would consider normal milling. The stamping and paint fill are what I requested and tidy. The coloration is what I expected and only the cavity behind the face shows any roughness, but well within what I consider respectable. How does it feel? Very crisp feeling when putting, and I like crisp. Made a nice sound, weight is very nice. The lack of offset in the head made this very easy line up and roll with confidence. After 2 holes I felt like I had been using this putter all season. I am happy with the finished product and rate the putter an A.
