Taylormade Daddy Long Legs...Anyone get one yet?

Took the 38" I just got out to the putting green tonight. It is incredible from short range. Like nothing I've ever experienced before, and I have probably tried 150 putters the last 5 years. On longer putts once I realized I had to make a confident/aggressive stroke with it, my distance control seemed to be good as well. If I lost my concentration and made a half hearted stroke on a 30+ foot putt, I would leave it well short. You just can't be afraid to swing it. On some short putts, I could really feel the putter resist twisting in my hands whereas with a lighter putter the face would have opened a ton.

Im gonna get one of these DLL's but am torn between the lengths. I am not a tall guy but usually prefer more of an elbow stroke as opposed to a full arm hang. Coming from a 34 inch putter that I usually choke down on anyway is there any real benefit or drawback to going to the longer version for me? Also if I get the longer version is there any difference in the head weight if I decide to cut it down and replace the grip with the same?

After a few hours on the pratice green, I think im finally starting to ger a feel for this thing. I was gripping it too low ( more twards the face of the spider down) so i started to grip higher (more on the back of the spider about an inch from the butt) with great results! I just gotta dial speed in now.

Super stable putter and the feel has been great. Cant wait to play this weekend

I wish they would have allowed these DLL's to have the two weight ports like the Spiders did so you could make the weight lighter (or heavier) For me, a head weight of 360-375 works better than 395. Not sure what their reasoning was for the 2.5 gram weight that's in the DLL. Seems rather insignificant being that light.

Awesome putter. I got mine yesterday and took straight to the course. I have the 35" and just gripped done a couple inches where it felt natural. No problem adjusting to at all for me as I had just 27 putts. The feel and my distance control were what amazed me. I've been using a spider center shaft for over 3 years(a brief time in there I used an Milled Anser 5 which is face balanced) and normally don't switch putters much. I highly recommend this putter or any of the counterbalanced models as more models are going to be released.

So after about 6 rounds and about 8hrs on the putting greens, I've decided im going to end my relationship with the DLL. I've missed more putts than i've made, miss alot of short putts that i usually drain. So i have another week till the 30day guarantee, more than likely will replace it with an TR Anser2

I was having some trouble as well and also checking the date on my receipt. Then it came to my attention that I was gripping down too far on my 38. I moved my grip up an inch-and-a-half and its like a whole new putter!

I agree with this 100%. I am only 5'9 and used to play a 34" putter, then went to a belly. When I was using the belly, I was more upright and gripped the club at about 36" and putted better than ever. So with the move to the 38" DLL, I only grip down about 2". Last 2 rounds I've had 29 and 28 putts. Birdied 4 of my final 11 holes ... never done that before. You have to be sort of aggressive with your stroke with this putter. When I first got it my stroke was sort of tentative, thinking the extra weight would do some of the work. Just hit putts firm and this thing will work wonders. And I hate TaylorMade ;) ... except for their putters.

The only reason why I sold mine was because I can't help but follow the putter when they are that big. I am looking to get a spider blade to replace it.

Guys, what is the tip size for the DLL? I am going to replace my 35" shaft with something a bit longer. It's just single bend right?

I went from a 35" DLL to a 36" Tank. I liked the Tank better as it has better feel. Today I rolled a few with my old Spider Ghost.

I make more 3-8 footers with the Tank. All you need is a good read and it goes where you aim. I am far better on longer putts with the Spider Ghost.

Got mine today and should've gotten it long time ago! Three birdies first round with it, no three putts, great distance control, feels great. Play normal 33" Spider Ghost and went with 35" DLL, perfect.
