I putted a few with this the other day and was really really impressed. It is incredibly easy to line up and the balance of the head is very nice. When I first picked it up I thought it felt a bit "plastically" but after a few putts I got used to the feel and started to really warm up to it. I also liked the longer grip which sort of counter balances the head. The insert is nice too.. maybe a hair soft but very good at getting the ball rolling off the face. I am seriously considering getting one although the $200 price tag is a bit high IMO.

I just left a local golf store. I rolled both the 35" and 38". I play a 34" Spider Ghost. I barely got out without one. I don't want a 38" putter but it felt a little better. They only had one of each so I likely. On't get one for awhile. They had already sold all their Tank putters so I couldn't compare.

I got one. It's awesome. Soo easy to line up and almost impossible to mishit it.
Awesome!! You go with the 35 or 38?
38... I like the counterbalancing a lot. I have never felt so confident with a putter. I think this is a good answer to the belly putter ban.

My club pro got his stock DLL putters in 35" and 38". My friend bought 35" immediately, I liked the 38" but I'm currently putting nicely with my current 2013 Spider but might get that 38" just for heck of it. It did feel stable with my yippy stroke.

My only issue is the heads are larger than current Spider models.

I've had mine for a month and half now. A few weeks ago I was showing a family friend and we compared his Spider head, I thought they were the exact same size.

Ha, it's probably my bad eyes. I was putting with it inside of pro shop due to cold weather. I'll check both of them out when I get chance.

You may very well be right. We compared them side-by-side. If I'm remembering correctly, I think they are the same size or VERY minor size difference.

I went there for lunch and took a pic of both DLL and 2013 Spider putters. I think the old Spider putter is larger than current Spider putter though.

Sorry for poor pictures.

Good call, man! I could have sworn it was the same size. That sucks even more because I was hoping to get an old black Spider headcover.

I'll stick with my Cleveland Almost Belly. It almost makes me a good putter, and it looks a lot better than the DLL. :D

Just kidding -- whatever works! Hell, I'd put a Detour in the bag if it got the ball in the hole.

I am still not certain what would make it better than a Heavy Putter brand heavy putter other than the Taylor Made name. How are these things on longer lag putts?

I not sure why I've seen it be compared to a heavy brand putter multiple times. I don't see the comparison. The head certainly does not feel as comparatively heavy as a heavy putter ( although I've only used the heavy-weight heavy) amd heavy makes no head that looks remotely similar to this head. I certainly think it would be easier to align than a heavy putter model.

Why don't you just compare it to a heavy putter and see? I just don't think there are a lot of similarities myself.

I am a less is more kinda guy when I look at a putter, and but I have to admit that the spider is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine.

Got to try the DLL and the tank yesterday. I made everything I looked at with the DLL. I was so impressed that I ordered one immediately. Can't wait to get it. I liked the 35" model over the 38". The tank was ok but the DLL was much better IMHO. I heard they are having a hard time keeping them on the shelves. Everyone that tries it likes it.

Just got back from my first round with DLL. Loved it. I am not a great putter and have used numerous putters in my career. This was definitely an improvement. Felt extremely stable and easy to line up. My only complaint...I usually use a 35" putter so I got the 38" inch model that TM recommends. You are supposed to choke down on it by 2 or 3 inches. Works great unless you are wearing a jacket/windshirt. It was a chilly morning and I had on my jacket. The putter grip occasionally got caught up in the jacket where it bunches up at the bottom. Ended up unzipping the jacket when I got on the green to putt. Obviously this won't be a problem during normal, warm conditions. Still a great putter and will be keeping for a long time.

I just got the DDL in yesterday and played with it today. WOW...can't believe how stable this thing is. I had the Tank and it doesn't even come close to being as good as the DDL. I made several long putts and was pretty much automatic from 5 ft and in. TaylorMade has a winner here!!! I got the 35 in but I usually putt with a 33 or 34. I had the 36 in the Tank and it was pushing the length max for me.

I wasn't so much referring to the actual putter but the heavy concept. I apologize that I was not clear in my comments. I am liking the putter allot as it may replace my Ghost Spider. I also still have my Ghost Corza is I am a fan of the white putter.

How is it working for lag putting?

I actually compared both the tank and the DLL, only thing I didn't like was how cheap the DLL feels.
I agree. I'd struggle to remember a putter I've tried that felt as cheap. I don't care for the Tank either. The Nike Drone 2.0 seems very stable, but I can't get past the looks.
