My refinished Rife Antigua

Hey guys, had some time to spare this weekend and decided to refinish my old Rife Antigua.

 

What do you think? I wanted to give it a smoother appearance than stock.

Thanks, I'm looking for a nice headcover and grip to pair with this one but I think I'll leave the head "raw" and un-paintfilled.

will it rust? or is it made of stainless? Raw is tough to keep dry/rust free. Do you have any before shots? I do like this look.

The Rife Island series are all milled from either 303 or 304 stainless steel.

ok cool. I have an old spalding tpm, and I cannot keep it from rusting/pitting. I have to baby oil it all the time!

Yes I don't anticipate that this thing will rust. I was thinking of getting a new "nice" putter, but this one does look the part for a couple of bucks worth of sandpaper. Pictures of the stock Antigua are around the internet, but the biggest change with my refinish is the removal of the milling marks on the putter. Also, I think it looks slightly smoother than the stock Antigua.

If you're looking for a grip, look at the new 2013 rife grip, it's gray with blue ends, very nice

"Torched" it using my kitchen stove.

To finish this putter off I'm thinking of getting an Iguana Leather Grip and a Stitch leather headcover.

Wow.... what did you do to torch it with the stove?

Put it in the oven at a high temp for an hour or so.

Always liked a brushed looking finish. Well done. Would you mind telling what temp you set the oven to??

Thanks! Btw, I didn't use the oven. I put the putter into an old pot and then put the pot on the element. After about 20 minutes the putter had this color.
