What to do...

re: what to pull & what to add...
I need some help on what to pull from the bag and what to add etc...

Currently I have a 4 wedges (pw,52,56,60) And I carry 2 woods (driver and 3-w)
I used to only carry 3 wedges (No 60*) but then added it for a big Jr. Tournament with EXTREMLY FAST greens and high rough in which it helped this past Summer..

And I just bought an adams 16* hybrid. I havnt tested out its distance yet due to snow in MN lol, and i want to put that in the bag due to having such a huge gap between my 3 iron and 3-w. Will the 16* hybrid likely fill in the gap??

So I need help in deciding what to pull from the bag...

Should it be the 3-w which im not entirly confident with when hitting?

Or should it be the 60* wedge??? (that i primarly use around the greens in sticky situations)

If it helps my strength is the shorter irons and short game, long game could be more consistant...

Anything helps thanx

Bids
:)

Depending on the loft of your 3w, I would say rather than a 16* hybrid you need more like an 18* or 19*, depending on the loft of your 3w and 3I. Personally, I have a 10.5* driver, 15* 3 wood, 19* hybrid, 3-PW, and 54* 58* wedges, this has worked well for me yardage gap wise. Another solution for the wedges is to switch to a 54* and 58* setup, which kind of gives you a little bit of everything, the only troube is losing distance from the 52* which is managable.

Yeah like what Goose said. Or you can have Driver, 3 wood, 20ish degree hybrid, 4-PW, 52, 56 and 60 degree wedges.

I like this option! Very similar to my bag (except for 22º hybrid, 50, 54, 58). To be honest it all depends on the player/course. For me, northeastern courses tend to be a little shorter, and a lot tighter. Because of this, I find myself in situations where I needed my wedges. I have always played a 4 wedge set up and cannot see myself changing. If you play longer courses and find yourself needing to hit Driver and a 3-4 iron into some holes, then most likely the hybrid route is the way to go (and change your wedge set up to what some have suggested: PW, 54, 60).

I really have no need for a three iron because the hybrid revolution has seemingly made it pointless to carry one around. In the end, if you discover that the hybrid will help your game, then definitely put it into play, and change your wedge lofts around. There is also the route of what Cody said, take your 3-iron out, and find a hyrbid that will be a perfect gap between your 4-iron and 3-wood (most likely ~20º) and with the help of draws and fades you will find that not only you can keep your 4-wedge set up, but have a great gap inbetween your 3-wood and long irons.

Hope that helped :drinks:

I would agree that you should let the course dictate what clubs you use. It is very nice to have enough clubs to be flexible. You might play some short courses where you dont need a 3 wood or hybrid and you might play some longer courses where you may want to pull a wedge to have more options for long shots into greens.

Assuming your 3wd is 15*, For everyday play I would personally use Driver, 16* Hybrid, Irons, 52, 56, 60 degree wedges and putter of course.

check my WITB. more than 14 clubs there. Just like tour pros, they change clubs depending on course setup.

I do agree that the 16 is to close to your 3 wood. better off with an adams pro 18 and 23, then you can dump your 3 and 4 iron. (it's easy to learn to choke up on the 22, it will fly the same distance as your 4, and higher). then you get your 4 wedges.

good luck!!
