Teh longest i have played was in a qualifier at 7800 in Indiana. It was flat and windy the longest course I do believe in the world that is not in the mountains.

 

The longest course in the world is the International - Pines course in Bolton, MA. I believe it's 8200 from the Tiger tees.

My limit is 6900 yards, typically. The courses I usually play are 6600-6700 yards, but tight. The longer courses I play typically have harder and drier fairways, making the course play 100-200 yards shorter.

I will add that to the list of must play courses thanks for clearing that up!!! The other course in Ireland that i could play everday and not play another would be Adare Manor. My god what a fabulous golf course!! I stayed there for 3 nites in the on course condo's. That was a place i could live at for the rest of my life!!! It was summer so we played at 5am and i could practice until about 11 before it got to dark. WOW!!!!!

Adare Manor is hosting the next 3 Irish Opens

Adare manor is jsut so beautiful. I can't stress it enough. I got to play it for free lucky me the guy in the pro-shop the a** pro was happy to see AMERICANS! haha - Well I payed 21 dollars american for the cart fee but all i can say is wow! I am pissed tho when i went i left my golf shoes in the states- we had a 5 am flight. I am stupid yes. :drinks:

Correct, I think 7,000 yards is a good course, able to mix some long holes, short holes and medium holes. I hate courses where all the par 3's are 4 iron and you're hitting 4iron or hybrid into the greens all day. Not enjoyable

over 7100 is long for me since I don't hit the ball that far... but I play my home course at 796 yards and It's hard enough for me... Especially when the wind's blowing in your face on an 475 yards par 4, that's quite long, isn't it? But I love my home course anyway so even if it's quite hard. My goal for next season is to shoot even par or under, hope I'll do it, but every hole has something hard to deal with it so i'll be very happy with a 72, even if for you guys this seems to be a normal scoring day..
