How Many Golf Balls Do You Carry?

18 holes Walking/Riding...home/new cours
I was just curious how many golf balls do you have in your bag when playing an 18 hole around.

Since it may depend on a number of scenarios, please indicate whether:
- Walking or Riding
- Playing home course vs a new course
- other factors that you take into consideration when deciding this:

Myself:
Walking/Riding (home course) 4 balls

Walking/Riding (new course) 6 balls

I'll generally carry 6-9 balls in my bag. I ususally walk on the course, I can't think that this would influence the number of balls I carry in my bag. If it's a more difficult course I may carry 3 more but no more than that.

I normally start out with about 4 balls for a 18 hole round.

However, i do have about 30 balls that i have found in the last couple of weeks that are still in the bag that I will probably never play. I dump them into a 5 gallon bucket and in the spring I take them and hit them into the back field instead of going to the driving range.

On my home course I generally carry 6-9 balls. If I am playing a course for the first time I will usually throw a 3-6 more in the bag "just in case".

I usually carry 12 good balls, and whatever balls i find on the course in my bag to use on water holes.

The course I play in my companies golf league is pretty tough, so on a normal day I lose 3 or 4. On a bad day I may lose 6 or 7.

Lately though I find myself pullng out my driver less, scoring better, and losing less balls.

I carry 6 balls to play a round with, but have 30 in the side pocket to hit the practice green with before I play. I typically take a cart, but since the balls are in a small bag, I easily take the 30 out before walking.

My home course has a nice practice green which allows you to hit shots from 100 yards and in and/or work on putting. They also have a small practice green in front of the clubhouse.

3 sleeves new balls, but it will either be 2 sleeves of one ball, and 1 sleeve of the other ball. i mainly play top flite strata tour soft and nike ta-2 lng/precept u-tri x-dist (same ball). same days one ball works better than the other. i will open a sleeve on the 1st and 10th tee. i typically have 6-9 old balls in the bag. if it is a particular bad day i might have to hit these. i've been getting better/luckier with losing balls in water and in the trees, but have been having problems losing them in the rough. on a few occasions it where holes are parallel and i think the group on the other has taken or played my ball. typically i'm losing about 3 balls a round now and toss 2-3 balls because they've become chewed up from the wedges.

It replaced a Titleist 975J that was several years old. I have only had it a couple on months but so far I have been happy with the choice. I demoed both the NV and NVS shaft. I tend to be a low ball hitter and the NV shaft was definitely shorter compared to the NVS. I get a nice high flight with good distance with the NVS without any "ballooning".

Six.

If I end up needing more than that, I'll be reaching in the bag for a loaded 9mm, not another ball....

I carry abag, and the weight of more than six in the ball pocket gives it an annoying tilt...

12, not because I lose them that often but because I tend to scuff them on full swing shots with my wedges. It used to be worse, when I used to play X-14PS those seemed to have such sharp grooves that I scuffed the ball on every shot.

And I carry the same amount, whether I am walking or riding, and regardless of the course.

I have like 8 to 10 regardless. Somtimes, like last night, I'll hit off an extra ball and if it's too far from my original I leave it. Last night I had a "new" set of TM 300 Forged so I was hitting a 4iron off from the rough between the blues and whites just for practice. I eventually dead yanked one on the 3rd hole and left that ball wherever it went.

I once played a course with my buddy in CT that had these huge dropoffs. I only had like 5 or 6 balls and was down to 1 after 9. Now I make sure to have a few extras just in case. I probably only realistically "lose" one every 2 to 3 rounds though.

Don't laugh people, but I usually have probably about 30 new balls that I carry in my bag regardless where I'm playing. I'll carry a equal amount of premium (Pro V1x, Nike One, HX tour) and regular (Loco, Noodle, Pinnacle) balls. Sometimes you just never know if you or your playing partner is gonna have a round from hell...I like to be prepared. Is it any wonder why my bag feels heavier than a rock sack?

I keep an even dozen. I'm very particular about having no scuffs, etc. Rejects go to my seventeen year old.
