Golf Marathon for the First Tee of Dallas

On October 7th, I will be playing in a golf marathon that benefits The First Tee of Dallas. Marathon??? Yes, marathon! Let's be honest...this is the only type of marathon I have even a remote chance at completing! It is 26.2 miles of GOLF (100+ holes) to help raise funds and awareness for one of my favorite organizations, The First Tee of Dallas!

 

Through our support and using golf as the hook, The First Tee helps keep kids off the street and give them values for life like perseverance, confidence, and respect; values that will dramatically shape the rest of their lives!

Just a quick update...

I'm just under 1/2 of the way to my fundraising goal with the event scheduled for next Monday. I've set up a performance-based donation that some of my friends have joined in on. The setup goes like this:

You donate:
$1 for every par I record
$2 for every birdie I record
$5 for every eagle or better that I record

I donate (and you subtract):
$1 for every triple bogey or higher that I record

The only rules on this are:
1. I cannot play from the most forward tees on the course.
2. You send in a donation based on my results after the event is over.

I will send out a copy of my scorecards for those who take me up on this to review. Over my last 50 rounds, I make a par 37% of the time, a birdie 5% of the time, and a triple or worse 3% of the time. If I carried those trends out through the 108 holes I plan to play, it would equate to a $47 donation at the end.
