I guess this is as good a spot as any for this, but I thought it was important to show how not everything that changes is necessarily for the better.

Sure the new club is longer and more "forgiving", but what struck me the most was the old club played straighter with a centre strike and "felt" amazing. No internet golf guru is going to be caught dead playing a 20 year old club, but not all gains come without a cost.

Right on brotha. I still game (I am a WRXer) my 20+ yr old Warbird 3w. And, it fills the gap perfectly between my 2H and my driver (~230yds). I have tried various new Callaway, Titleist, and TM 3ws, but it stays in the bag, mainly cause it goes just as far and sound/feels better (love that metallic 'tink'), original RCH 96 shaft still in place. Don't if I will ever replace it...
Yep you feel about that Warbird like I feel about my old Steel Head 3W. Mine is probably 20 years old and it has been in my bag now 13 years and come to think about it my V-Steel 7 wood aint no spring chicken either it has been in my bag going on 8 years now. BTW my 7 wood backup is a Cally Hawkeye that I found at Goodwill a few weeks ago for $2.99 stock shaft hits good needs a little weight in the back

I think I got the message just now. I was surfing over on e-bay looking at classic clubs of course. The wife was flipping the channels and The Blues Brothers was on. When she flipped it on the part of the movie with Johnny Lee Hooker singing-- ho ho ho. Gotta be a sign. Love that movie have seen it over 100 times know every line in it

In my misspent youth I used to favor the Blues bars in Chicago: Muddy Waters, Koko Taylor, John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf, etc. You would only be a few feet from the stage sipping a Guinness or a Bass Ale. Sometimes a visitor would drop by: Johnny Winters, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Man, those guys could play. $2.00 cover charge.

When I was 17/18, myself and various friends would haul up to The Edgewater Rock Club in Twin Lakes, WI to partake in a night's worth of loud rock-n-roll music and Tom Collins libation. Of course, the legal age was 18 but those cheeseheads only cared if you gave them a $5 cover charge. After that, drinks flowed! How we ever made it home safely was only by the Grace of God!

Stu,
How you making out with the storm? I am out at sea at the moment and can't get back to Charleston for another week. Heard it flooded bad on James Island last night and my boys said water came in my place a little after midnight.
You be careful if you are out doing any towing.
Thanks man we are doing fine not much bad flooding around my place yet. I had wondered about you the other night and had posted about you in the 19th hole confessions thread. Reasonability said he knew you from on here and had wondered too. So far your area and North Myrtle got it worse than we did.
I have not been in the towing business for 15 months now. I got out of it in June of 14. I am driving a tractor trailer for one of my buddies that owns a metal recycling place. I go up to Darlington one time a day and come back 5 days a week. Usually back on the beach around noon every day 15:00 at the very latest

Saw some pics and vid from SC this morning. Holy moses!!! Two feet of rainfall in some areas. Hope you guys down there (OSR, Big Stu, et. al.) are coping somehow. Stay safe and prayers that you're not personally experiencing any damage to your homes.

I had about 2 feet standing in my yard this morning front and back. No damage to the shop or house so far. I did not work today even though I went to the yard. It has quit raining here and the water is starting to recede some. Thank all of you for your prayers and concerns

I heard some places received 16-inches of rain. That's not rain. That's a monsoon.
Columbia SC our capital got more than that. It was really screwey. Georgetown SC 20 miles south of me got around 20 inches we got about 16 North Myrtle Beach which is 20 miles north of me got about 20. Charleston really got pounded like Columbia. It is already starting to recede some heck they were playing golf on the city owned course when I went by this afternoon. My home course right around the corner from me we may be lucky if we are playing by Thanksgiving. The holes I saw from the road had at least 6 feet standing yesterday judging by the topography which I know well.
Thanks the water has receeded here at my house. Charlestown still has problems and so does Columbia our capital. Now in Conway SC they are getting some of the river overflow from the Waccamaw river and are expecting it to still rise as the week progresses. In fact our governor is flying over it as I type assessing the damage and still rising river

I heard from my adjuster that only around 700 places in Columbia had flood insurance. In Atlanta now on the way to Charleston. Total loss for contents in house and garage, and 60 grand structural damage. Fully covered, so feel blessed about that.
Man I hate that for you but glad you did have insurance of course I know first hand some things no money can replace period. i lost a lot of stuff in a house fire 35 years ago. You and your family will be on my prayer list for certain. Glad to know you have some Godly supporting folks at your church. LOL, thanks Randy. As I sit here this a.m. composing this (with a dull headache), still in disbelief that the Spartans actually won the game. A win while playing with the lead 0:00 of the game. I had braced myself for the loss, never easy losing to Michigan. But could see by how the clock was winding down, MSU was going to get ONE more touch before the game ended. Just never in my wildest dreams could I have expected that.

Like to think that for those who had "no dog in the hunt", it was a entertaining game to watch. Hard fought on both sides. Reminds me of the Auburn / Alabama game from a couple of years ago. The game Auburn won on the[s] blocked[/s] missed FG return for TD. Their natty year?

Guess its just going to be one of those years with State. Just keep posting W's, no matter what. UM is a much better team under Harbaugh, and will continue to improve moving forward. The rivalry should have many exciting games in the years to come. Small tinge of sympathy (slightly), losing the game in that fashion. At our little gathering (about 20 people), we had about a 50/50 split on allegiances. The UM fans (including a couple of alums) were all excited and giddy about the expected win. Then that last play. They were absolutely shell shocked! Good friends as well, tried to offer our condolences by saying that was a heck of a way to lose the game. Bunch of 50/60 year olds, not college kids! Devastated.

Indiana at home next week, then a much needed bye week. Rest, get healthy, recharge. Then Neb. and OSU (11/21), both on the road. All roads still run thru Columbus. One game at a time.

Spartans Will.
